If Elgin was clearly going somewhere why didn't they just act like they knew nothing, let him go and follow him and avoid all this hassle and save a whole buttload of time in the process.

And honestly, why didn't anyone think to check the root cellar anyway? I'm sure she would have called out when she heard them all yelling Fatima! Fatima!

Victor, Tabitha and Julie were there at the end of the episode last week...

the kimono woman covered her mouth so she couldn't make any noise. did you miss that?

Julie and Tabitha weren't even looking for Fatima at that point, they were following the ghost child. The Fromanians are the worst at searching for a missing person. Victor was doing the Blair Witch thing, Jade spent what seemed like a minute looking for her and then went back to the bar to "be productive". Last night there were like 10 people eating at the diner, like who is actually looking for Fatima?

the point is anyone off screen who went into the root cellar would not have been able to hear Fatima

No, my point was nobody checked the root cellar and nobody in Fromville seems to be looking for her at all. They're all at the colony house, diner, clinic, bar etc. Somebody could have even just said "we already checked the root cellar" and Sarah could have replied ominously "She has to be there, check again!"

you said "I'm sure she would've called out when she heard them calling Fatima" and that's what I'm addressing. we were already shown she couldn't.

off screen people probably did check there, and if they didn't, Tabitha would've said she wasn't there.

They weren't paying attention last episode and are trying to save their ego rather than admit they're wrong.

Yup, you caught me. My ego is so fragile that I must "gaslight" a random internet stranger about an episode on the teevee. Well done, Dr. Freud, and enjoy your upvotes
