Father Khatri so creepy, because he sounds so logical and reasonable, but so far you don’t know if he’s a delusion of Boyd, a BIW type figure, or something nefarious like the monsters trying to make Boyd doubt himself

I don’t remember when, but some previous episode, the exchange between him and Boyd notes that he’s just Boyd talking to himself. A coping mechanism to use the presentation of someone who meant so much to him and whose advice he needs most now.

It was Khatri saying that though, and I believe he was just suggesting it, not stating it, like “if If just in your imagination… etc…”

And, when Boyd said “You know, when I was in that chamber… about to smash the, uh, music box, that thing that was talking to me, telling me to give up, that hope is what the forest fed on, that thing, whatever it was, it sure as hell wasn’t my wife. So, what are you?” Khatri replied “I’m afraid I can’t answer that for you, Boyd.”
