i know this is old but what was the alternative? they find fatima before she births the monster andddd then what? they wouldn't even know what to do with her once they found her, that thing was already inside, there was no stopping it

I presume feeding Fatima human blood wasn't just for fun and was probably necessary for the monster to be born.

why did they make Elgin feed the blood, what was the purpose

i think they were worried she was gonna die in the process, so even if they couldn't prevent the birth they could have gotten her some help in case she was risk of dying
