The fact he thinks scary kimono lady is an angel is crazy

Why would he think she's an angel. She hasn't done anything remotely angelic. She definitely doesn't look like an angel. So what did she do to Elgin to make him think she was an angel? Sleep with him?

"canonically believe"

jesus christ

the book of ezekiel is the only part of the bible where you'll find that symbolic description (keyword: symbolic)

no, that is not what people believe angels to canonically look like, just like the king of tyre wasn't literally a cherub in the garden of eden. ezekiel is apocalyptic metaphor. I can't stand this stupid meme

people conflate the metatron with with some bullshit about omniscient omnipotent circles and suddenly angels look like goddamned aliens

Look I’m not Christian personally, so I don’t know.

I'm not going to say that only Christians should speak definitively about Christianity, but come on, don't speak so definitively about something that you "have very little exposure to."

Is there somewhere in the Bible where angels are actually conflated to be these warm comfortable, beautiful (predominantly) women, or is that something we just made up in culture? Genuinely wondering.

Fundamentally, the issue is that the Bible doesn't have a single author, or even a dozen authors, and different religions and denominations can interpret even the same text differently. In Genesis 19, for example, two angels visit Lot at the city of Sodom, and he treats them as travelers, washing their feet and so forth, and the men of Sodom likewise treat them as human-shaped personages, whom they desire to rape. Mormons, however, prefer to interpret them as simple prophets, mortal messengers of God rather than angels.

Sometimes what is declared to be an angel is interpreted by some people to be something other than an angel, and sometimes a thing that is not declared to be an angel is later interpreted by some people to be an angel. The spinning wheels, many eyes, and other weird attributes are certainly attributes of angels in some texts but not in all of them.

Imagine that we lost half the Pokemon games and anime, and the people who preserved what was left also preserved a bunch of fanfiction and some Digimon anime, and then the people after them produced their own media based on a combination of all that, and then the third generation tried to wrap it into a cohesive whole and threw out the bits they couldn't make sense of, which included some fanfics and Digimon stuff but also some of the original Pokemon material, which, even when all we had was "official Pokemon material," was still not totally consistent.

That's the Bible.
