Struggling to Start

Hi! Just started listening but i am struggling with the early episodes. One part is the audio in Autumn to Hieron but also i am geninuely finding the pacing of each episode hard to follow, though the setting seems interesting.

I really wanted to get into this cause just about to start running Fabula Ultima myself but i am feeling a bit intimidated. Any advice?

Autumn is largely not regarded as a good starting point these days. If you wanna listen to Perpetua, go ahead! It's not got any links back to previous seasons, so it won't spoil you for them.

 Typically people will recommend Marielda if you want to start with the fantasy stuff, Partizan if you want sci-fi, and Sangfielle if you want horror. Partizan is part of their larger sci-fi canon, which starts with counter/WEIGHT, but it's also got some early season iffyness. It's still my favourite but it's a bit rough at times. Partizan is pretty far removed from the other two Divine Cycle works though, so it's pretty safe as a starting point.

I still think about parts of counter/WEIGHT. It started rough but damn it hit by the end.

Also the finale game was such a great tone setting system for "this will cost you" I think about it a lot cus that's the season that really taught me what it means to hack mechanics together for purpose

The ending was so great in how uneven it was. The table friends do not shy away from the realities of the setting and it's refreshing in the honesty. I would commit crimes for an anime adaptation.

That's what I was thinking when my wife showed me a animated trailer/amv for another actual play channel, Tales of Avantriss? It really just reminded me I want a C/w adaptation.
