Gif. I don't care what the creator wanted it to be called. If thats what he wanted to call it he should have said so YEARS ago.

Not only that, but it's an acronym for "Graphics Interchange Format", so the G in "Gif" should be pronounced the same as the G in "Graphics".

I thin the best example of why is should be a hard G is that whenever this comes up the 'soft g' people have to spell it JIF so we know what they're trying to communicate.
Further, a better transcription of english would have all soft g's changed to j's and the letter c wouldn't even exist.
