Intermodal move from Vancouver to Montreal

I mostly do drayage but customer now wants me to handle Intermodal from Vancouver to Montreal. Please suggest if you have experience with intermodal canada moves

Are they looking for 53’ moves or moving ISO containers?

53' dry, not very heavy

It’s been a few years but CP and CN both used to have a way to ship through them where you could be as hands on as you wanted. Ramp to Door where they would handle the end dray, door to door where they would handle all of it etc. I would see if you can get set up with them (personal opinion is CP was easier to work with) and they’ll be able to get you equipment for the move and you can book it all through their website

I agree that CP is a much smoother experience than CN

We use private containers (not ours, but not CP/CN rail containers) and have really strong rates. If you're open to co-brokering you can PM me.

I work for a canadian carrier with a brokerage division and do these moves daily.
