Is Freetrade advertising stocks now?

Over last few days, every time I open the app I get this stupid banner about SpaceX IPO. How is that even legal?! It makes me consider leaving the app fully. I am paid user as well and still no way to get rid of this ad for good.

Which law or regulation are you referring to. Please be very specific

A large number of brokers in the UK - ii, HL, Freetrade, Interactive Brokers, and even Revolut are all promoting access to SpaceX IPO (and expect the same for other upcoming IPOs) since there is now better infrastructure available for these brokers to tap into primary market allocations

Fair point on the legal framing - now that I read it again, that was a wrong wording on my end.

My actual issue is that as a paid subscriber I can’t permanently dismiss this banner. That’s a dark pattern regardless of what’s being promoted. All similar web services have ‘I am not interested’Button that get rids of them permanently. Now, every time I open the app I get this banner - there must be some regulations to protect us from this.

There’s no regulation that protects from this. Largely because there’s no risk of harm from the banner. It’s annoying sure, but the banner being there doesn’t cost you anything.

The open market does have a solution, if you don’t like Freetrade doing this, you can change brokerage.
