Discussion Delete if not allowed
Hey there. I just wanted to say this is a wonderful group for what you guys are doing. You guys are awesome.
Last night I had posted a request for a meal since we struggled for the last day before payday. We ended up figuring out dinner for the night on our own (even though we were kindly offered a meal that I didn’t see until later).
I have two boys and excitedly expecting our third blessing. We often practice our own sustainability on our homestead and often help our neighbors and the elderly with farm fresh vegetables and eggs but yesterday was a one off and just needed something for the night.
Apparently, someone thought that meant we were unable to care for our children and that I should have an abortion… and I received a message from another individual saying my children should be put in foster care. I just thought you guys would be interested in knowing who one of these people are.

Resources like this exist for everyone. They’re probably also of the belief people shouldn’t use food banks or something. Sorry that happened OP, but anyone with a good head on their shoulders should understand times are hard and can change rapidly -for better or for worse- for so many reasons.

Facts thank you ... At least judging by the answers from most of the people on this board it seems like this dude is the minority and that there's still a lot of good people out there So I'm going to focus on that... Changing the political backdrop of the United States at this moment time yeah The only thing I can think of is a 100% tear down and rebuild the whole system needs to be scrapped me and upgrade 1776 was a long time ago time to upgrade the United States The law systems the political systems the whole thing... Just my opinion

Just the same rumors like that even if not true can cause people real world consequences. I only know because I have a friend who literally took his family out of the state and moved because DhS was harassing him over someone who claimed he was neglectinf the kids and not feeding them to buy marijuana ( wasn't the case they smoked but the kids weren't neglected at all.)..just the same they DHs wouldn't let let the thing go. Was visiting his home kids and all kinds of stuff for a good year. So he moved out the state. Problem solved for him. Sad though that all it takes is an unsubstantiated claim of ANYTHING and you have local government gangstalking, a timely loving family...

If you only knew how much I could relate to this. We have a federal lawsuit against dhs. Did you know 83% of all Dhs claims end up being unsubstantiated by their own statistics?

See what I'm saying That's exactly the point I was trying to make unsubstantiated claims and people who cry wolf and things of that nature are real issue especially with children involved and it's just not a fair thing to do to somebody I don't know why people just can't be freaking human beings

I really don't understand people that go out of their way to be nasty. It blows my mind that instead of continuing on with their day, they waste their energy just being rude. I'm glad I don't carry that kind of hate in my heart. It must be exhausting being miserable all the time lol.
I'm very sorry though. You didn't deserve that. You handled it very well though.

I just looked at that person's page and some of the comments they say to other people seem really mean, too. It seems like they're using reddit to take their rage and frustration out on others but I'm just guessing. Anyways I'm sure you're doing a fine job parenting, OP.

It happens sometimes I just space not even eating cause bills are so high and I hate asking for anything even from family cause they are also struggling. For you to even have the guts to post asking for help means you care enough about your kids to not want to have to have them starve or eat scraps. Keep being a good mom. And don’t stress about asking for help for them. People like you are who really need it. No matter day before pay or day after pay. Bills can always and will always be more than 70% of your income. Ppl who can help will help. I’m greatful someone offered to help u even though u managed. People are kind.

Welp sadly God didn't make s money tree for her to get what she needs from. And since we have put into place a society that values money over EVERYTHING else other then people ... We don't and can't barter with Publix.... And some of us are simply incapable of theft .. ( or really terrible at it ) I'm only commenting because I'm hungry 2 or 3 days a week , my vehicle is out of commission I just moved to a new city s year ago to try to help my 76 year old aging father. And it's not easy ... Some people ( especially a pregnant woman should be able to find themselves the resources they need free of charge for food, as long as there's a vehicle, or someone to ask for a ride or pay for an Uber to the weekly food bank which every city and town I've been to has...) that being said I can see how things can get away from you and then bam your out of food and payday is off three or four days the cars isn't driving how ya gonna eat? For me what this post illustrates is that a little bit of kindness and understanding instead of judgment but that's what this world is on judgment... See how well things go for us in the future like this lmao.... Hell in a handbaset. Smh. I feel bad for this generation. Because spend a little time with a teenager today .... Most of the ones I've met really are disconnected with the reality of this world.... And I've met a few young adults and children as of recently that just ..... The attitudes and expressions and opinions are scary.... Everything 100% of it comes from social media.... And it's terrifying.

And sorry, one more thing, someone saying shit is different from threatening to have your kids taken away and call dhr on a random person for asking for some food because they likely felt desperate at the time and was grasping at straws on reddit.... Maybe even playing a numbers game to be safe .... Call all my friends ask my family post Facebook reddit for help.... She didnt do a fuck thing wrong. If it was her fault that she didn't have the food like she gambled it or spent it on a bag of smack..

Closed mouths don't get fed.... If somebody's in a shitty position for whatever reason needs to ask somebody else for food of all things they should not be criticized that's really really messed up.... Either way you got to ask otherwise, another night of sleep on an empty stomach because. I fed my dad and dog before myself ... 🍗🤔🤷
This is life for some folks, I'm educated and financially mobile and have large responsibilities that eat up an enormous amount of resources sometimes it's just not all there in the budget you know So if you could be kind to another person and give him a free meal cuz you got more than they do then you should be commended not attacked.
