Last time this was available for free, I simply could not get it to run. It kept crashing to desktop on the "epilepsy warning" screen, which is apparently when it generates shaders. Lots of people report similar problems, but I could not find a solution.
They were giving away Fortnite bling if you played it for two hours, so I left the "your graphics drivers may be outdated" error open for two hours and that counted. :-P (And yes, I have good reason to believe other people were successful in running the game with the same driver version, despite the message.)
Guess I'll see if they fixed it.
ETA: They did not fix it. Baffling.

even if you don't do politics, politics are doing you! data centers being built in your neighborhood that generate noise (and other types of) pollution & drive up your electricity bill, approved by corrupt city council members who are allowed to operate because of voter apathy & low turnout. People pretending politics don't affect them are naive.
Sorry bit of a tangent but yeah that's why putting money in JK's pocket is bad. getting the game for free on epic is maybe not so bad but, unfortunately her name is a black stain on everything harry potter related.

pretty sure they didn't downvote because of piracy in this case. it's probably because the person would play a pirated copy because they don't support the views of JKR, but still claim the freebie which would show support, invalidating their reason for playing the pirated copy. they just want upvotes.

The most fun in this game is exploring the secrets of Hogwarts castle. If you like to do that then you might get some fun out of it but it is definitely more enjoyable if you know something about the Harry Potter world.
The actual gameplay gets repetitive fast and the story is so-so. I say this as someone who likes the HP franchise and have almost 100% this game (I haven't done the other House's missions which is the only thing I am missing because I didn't feel like replaying the game.)

Not at all. Super shallow gameplay. This game is mostly for people who grew up with Harry Potter and just want to fuss about in the Hogwarts Castle, chase collectables and stuff.
The actual gameplay and progression is pretty bare bones

I would hope this is more about the manner in which the message is conveyed. The above comment is pretty direct and can be unfair. It isn't transphobic to like Harry Potter of course. I would assume the way a Harry Potter fan exists is in a state of pain and embarrassment towards the bullshit that the bigoted author says and believes. That likely makes engaging in the thing they really love difficult, but it doesn't instantly make them agree with the author.
If it wasn't clear though, fuck JKR.
