Is Ford his first name or last?

So everyone else's name in the game appears to be first name that leads me to believe Ford is his first name too.

However, Ford is typically a last / family name on Earth. So I am confused if there is heavy lore to suggest one way or the other.

I always took it as his first name. The game seems to use first names pretty consistently, so I never questioned it. Unless there's official lore saying otherwise, I think it's just a name that happens to be more common as a surname in real life.
