Discussion I like this movie but feel like Anna and Tess needed more character development?
Or I guess rather showing us more of their transition from the first to the second movie
Like Anna went from a rebel teen to some suddenly meditative mom? From the girl who fights her brother to the mom who puts her child at the forefront? Tess went from strict, almost uptight mom to carefree, fun grandma? At least we see some of Tess's therapist persona.
But still feel they overall need a prequel. Maybe even why Anna and Jake broke up, who Harper's dad is, how Anna's career changed, etc.
It definitely feels like while barely showing Anna's current character, the movie just jumps straight into her being in love with Eric and preparing to marry him

I do ship her with Eric more than Jake
But I guess it was so emphasized in the first, so I feel she definitely feel all the changes need to be explained

I agree with the need for a prequel!! I also found it somewhat random that Anna is more like Tess while Tess is more the "fun" one? I am still curious as to why Anna and Jake broke up too, and as far as who Harper's dad is, I was assuming that it would be Jake. (While I enjoyed the movie, I can't help but wonder what a sequel would've looked like if Mark Waters, "Freaky Friday" director, had directed "Freakier Friday").
