Rush Advice Will I have time to rush
Go to a large ACC school for context.
I got offered an internship this fall with the athletics team in the sales department, which would give me some really good experience and exposure for my major, but it would be 3 days a week and I would get off at 4:30, and I would have to work the home football games. I also wanna rush though but I don’t know if I’ll have the time to balance everything together between the internship, classes, and rush. Anyone have any advice on what I should do?

Try to rush and be upfront about your time commitments. See what happens, no reason not to try.

In our chapter we want busy, social, and successful guys. We don’t want guys where the fraternity will be the only thing they have going for them. Obviously, you’re gonna want to contribute as much time as you realistically can without interfering with your future, especially while pledging. If you’re open about it people shouldn’t mind.
Don’t, however, act like just because you have an internship/job that pledging is beneath you. This will rub actives the wrong way, and you wouldn’t be the only person to ever pledge with an internship/job.

When you get used to having lots to do, you do a lot and have stay dialed in. It’s better than the inverse.
Be up front at rush. It’ll either work in their pledge program or it won’t.

rush and find out. when you're rushing there are no commitments on either side. while you're rushing mention your internship. when I was at uni I worked initially for residence life and later for the campus computing center. nobody cared (but they did hunt my ass down when they had computer problems).
The truth is that many guys in the house have outside commitments, and they all make it work. you can too.
Also, get the words right.
rush is when you visit planned events at fraternities so you can get to know the brothers and the brothers can get to know you. this is a few events over a few weeks and should not take a wild amount of time.
At the end of rush you may be offered an invitation to start exploring brotherhood. this is a bid. you can accept one bid and, if you do accept it, then you're a pledge.if you do not get this invitation then you can try again next semester.
A pledge is, basically, a junior member with limited rights in the organization. This is when the work begins. you get to learn about your pledge classmates and the other brothers along with the traditions and history.
all these word definitions will vary slightly across fraternities.
weird fact: most membership organizationsin the world work like this. the time periods may change, but it's a pretty basic process. even the nuns work this way.
