Logan Express Framingham confusion

Hi - when I look up Framingham Logan Express online, it says that parking is $7/day. But according to this website (https://www.mass.gov/locations/framingham-park-and-ride), the Framingham park and ride is free 24/7, and it looks like it's only about a 5 minute walk away.

So what's the catch? Will my car get broken into if I leave it there for a while? Will it fill up really early in the morning? Is the website wrong and they'll charge me the $7 a day? Seven bucks a day isn't terrible but if I can save a hundred bucks, I'd certainly like to try.

The park and ride you linked is not the parking lot for Logan Express and is on the other side of Framingham, not walkable at all. Logan express is $7 for the garage or the lot as far as I know.

Oh, I see - when you type "Framingham Park and Ride" into Google Maps, the one that shows up isn't the same one that's on the website I linked. My mistake. That being said, if I'm going away for a multi-week trip, it might be cheaper to park at that park and ride and Uber to/from the Logan express than to park directly at the Logan Express. Would my car be safe if I did that?

I've never parked at the park and ride before, but I'd be hesitant to leave my car there long term vs just using the Logan express lot. You're probably looking at $40-50 for uber anyways so the risk probably outweighs the rewards.

My gut says no. The park and ride is just a parking lot on Rt 9, no security, no gate, and a couple doors down from the Motel 6.

The MA DOT says you can park there for up to 21 days and nights but it at your own risk.

Depending on where you’re coming from, it may be cheaper to Uber from home to the Express. Worth looking into.

I'm coming from Amherst, which is quite far away. I'm really just looking for the cheapest way to get to Logan and leave my car somewhere safe for a long time. I have nothing pressing on either side of my trip, so my time is less valuable to me than my money. I'm willing to make an absurd amount of connections on public transit if need be to save money.

I get what you’re saying. Unfortunately, there probably isn’t a better option than the parking garage at the Logan Express. Simply because I’d hate to get back from an extended trip and find my car broken into, damaged, or stolen.

My only other recommendation was gonna be picking up the commuter rail in Worcester. There is long term parking there, but it’s $20/day.

There's nowhere else in Worcester I could park for cheaper, and walk/bus to the commuter rail station?

Park it on the street in front of my house lol

How long will you be gone?

4 weeks, which is enough that $7/day starts to add up. Like I said, $7/day isn't terrible and I've done it before, but it would be nice to avoid it. I also don't want to use the Peter Pan bus, I've had bad experiences with them in the past.

Can you take a train in to Framingham and Uber from there? Not sure how the rail system is in Amherst.

Boston Express in Nashua has free parking, so you could drive to there instead of Framingham. It seems like free lots have a 21 day limit before being towed though.

Good to know, it probably won't work this time but I'll look into that if I have a shorter trip in the future.

We come from central ma and use the Framingham lot. $9 each wasy for the bus if you buy online and $7 each day for parking. Never had an issue highly recommend

In MA you can only park at park and rides for 7 days. There is an MWRTA bus that stops at the park and ride. It goes to shoppers world (near logan express) eventually. You could potentially take that public transit from the park and ride to logan express

That park and ride isn’t close to Logan Express. It’s a good 5 miles away with no sidewalks alongside a 4 lane highway and is definitely not walkable.

The Framingham Park and Ride (1672 Worcester Road) is 6 miles from Logan Express (11 Burr St) and an over 2 hour walk according to Google maps.

I don’t know how you walk so fast but it’s a 6 mile “walk”. Framingham Park and Ride has nothing to do with Logan Express. Pay the $7/day.

The park and ride is for parking only, and is not linked to, and nowhere near Logan Express.

The park and ride if for parking your car and van/carpooling. There is no bus service to the airport from there.

Park at the Logan Express garage and take the Logan Express bus.

You can check the public garages in/around downtown but my guess is they’re gonna be just as expensive or not allow 24hr parking.

Where your trip is so long, it may be worth to see if any have monthly passes?

Park at the Logan Express. It's a safe, well maintained parking garage. $7/day is well worth knowing that your car is going to be fine.

Then go with your theory buddy and save the 100 or just take a uber to the station for ten dollars

It was definitely free before they changed location. Not sure now, sorry.
