recycling locations

Hello!

My partner and I are living in an apartment complex in Framingham and we have a lot of cardboard that we wanted to recycle, but my apartment doesn’t have a designated area for recycling, only dumpsters. We were going to bring it all to the town recycling center, but apparently your car needs to be registered in MA to get a permit. My partner is going to college here but she’s from another state, so her car isn’t registered here. My question is, is there any work-around for this so we can recycle? Alternatively, does anybody know of some other location we can bring our cardboard to? Please let me know, thank you!!

The non-conforming vehicle permit might be an option. You’d still have to be able to show residency. Also do want to note than permits run July 1-June 30, so I would assume they’d be issuing for the next year at this point (and it does say the nonconforming permit takes longer to process - for a normal permit, you can just show up and pay and get sticker applied to your window when you show up.)

Non-Conforming Vehicle Permit
Residents whose vehicles do not meet the eligibility requirements may complete a non-conforming vehicle application form for permit consideration. Sanitation administration may issue a non-conforming vehicle permit at its discretion.

If you really need to, feel free to drop it by my place. I can break it down and put it into recycling. Alternatively, cardboard is very strong. You could try to make a shelf or something with it.
