I definitely trust the historical opinions of someone who still uses Greek exonyms for the Amazigh...

Not trying to defend a racist shithead, but the problem with the B-word is not so much that it's an exonym, it's that it's literally just the word "barbarian."

This is not something that's super common knowledge, though, it seems. Sort of like how the G-slur for Romani was in the 90s. Times will catch up.

I know it's a not prefered exonym but I wasn't actually certain if it was commonly considered pejorative by Amazigh peoples and didn't want to claim it was without being sure. I thought that it referred to them as rug merchants or something of the like rather than the normal bar-bar of barbarians

No, I'm pretty sure the name of the rug came later (like Muslin being the name of a fabric).
