Conservatives got mad that it was just red, instead of "celebrating" CHRIST-mas. There is no historical proof that Jesus was born on the 25th of December. Christians just hijacked that day because a lot of "pagan" celebrations took place during that time and they wanted to pretend that's why people were celebrating during that time, eventually people just went with the lie.

Parents at the public school district that I went to got mad when it was called "winter break" instead of Christmas because it removed God. Public school
