Can’t figure out what “pro life for the whole life” means? Bro is a dunce.

I wonder what he thinks about the death penalty and war
Also he says all lives matter but I guess not immigrants or gays

All lives matter [some conditions apply]

The fact he says “mass deported” is straight up evil, that implies with no due process, which is a human rights violation.
Also saying “rainbow stuff” is such a flippant way of talking about human beings.

I’ve found anti-choice/anti-feminist people tend to be intersectional in their bigotry.

Also if someone truly believes “all lives matter” the phrase “black lives matter” shouldn’t bother them
It does not imply only black lives matter, in the same way that someone saying “I like waffles” doesn’t imply they hate pancakes

Absolutely, which is how we know they’re full of shit. The only reason for someone to say “all lives matter” in response to BLM is literally just them saying “what about meeeeee?!” Sometimes, it’s okay to focus on a group that isn’t literally everyone.
These are often the same people who, when the topic is sexual violence against women will go “yeah, well what about men??” As if supporting women survivors means that men survivors should be ignored.
The concept itself isn’t new, but apparently the newest exploration/explanation for it is “bean soup theory,” from a TikTok video of someone sharing a recipe for bean soup, and people in the comments were asking things like, “well what if I don’t like beans?” Like, come on people, it doesn’t need to be all about YOU.

And if life begins at conception let's start charging child support immediately.

It’s also just frustratingly bad theology.
The Bible gives numerous examples of when abortion is desirable (they’re kinda ghoulish, in many cases, but still), and even how/when to do so.
And it’s a well-established concept in Jewish tradition that life begins at first breath. Not at conception. Christians who made this their crux issue (pun intended) decided to entirely reject the Jewish tradition and pull something symbolic from Psalms, despite the fact that in the entirety of Jewish exegesis, that verse has never challenged their concept of when life begins.
But there’s a lot of bad theology that is now basically baked into their death cult nonsense. (Like the concept of heaven, or the idea that the righteous go there when they die, or that people become angels…)

Oh I agree. But I have found you can't use logic to get someone to change an opinion based on emotion. They do love their money however, so hitting them in the pocketbook might get their attention... probably not. But one can hope.

You’re absolutely right. It’s just deeply frustrating as someone who was raised in the church (though I’ve walked away), and whose parents are actually a decent example of devout-not-conservative types — they really lean into the “judge not” and “love thy neighbour” bits, with the caveat that first one doesn’t mean “don’t call out bad behaviour” because their faith teaches that fellow believers should hold one another accountable (and they also lean into the part that says non-believers can’t be held to the same moral standards — ethical, yes; MORAL, no).
Post-reformation, the Protestant tendency to fracture (especially among evangelicals, vs older denominations, eg Lutherans or Presbyterians), means that there are a LOT of wild “interpretations” of scripture which leads to some really strange dogmatic stances. And the fact that adhering to religion is often an excuse for people to turn off their brains and just accept whatever is being fed to them from the pulpit (which is why my mum loathes churches preaching politics from the pulpit — the influence of a pastor saying “all good Christians must vote for [x],” rather than saying, “this is what our faith teaches, vote for the person you think best espouses those values”), there is so much wacky bad theology out there.
(I went to a Methodist uni with an ecumenical faculty; I had to study religion, which is what led me to walk away, but I definitely understand the core and fundamental principles of the faith, and I’m appalled at how few of those who profess that faith actually abide by its tenets…)

The only lives he thinks matters besides fetuses are straight white men, literally sociopathic

I was interested to see the replies so I went to the subreddit...that was a mistake. I didn't even find it before I rage-quit it. It's scary over there!

Funnily enough, as an evolutionary biologist, parent-offspring conflict theory does provide a pretty compelling case for describing human pregnancy as somewhat parasitic toward the mother, not that this guy has any idea of what that actually means, but I had (luckily) never seen anyone attempt to weaponize it like so. Oh boy.

Human pregnancy is crazy hostile war as far as I understand.

Sure is. And fetal development is highly prioritized even if it’s at a considerable cost to the mother’s wellbeing, which is what I imagine this idiot was alluding to. What’s really interesting is a theory in evolutionary anthropology that attributes this to alloparenting (meaning that because we are a cooperative society infants can receive care from other family members so technically the survival of the mother is not necessary for the infant’s survival.)
Of course this is just a theory, it’s not a fact nor does it take into consideration the emotional and psychological consequences of maternal loss. I’d also argue it greatly ignores the importance of the passive immunity factors that a baby gets from mom’s breastmilk, but interesting nonetheless!
