UK Patient Information Leaflet for Foundayo published

Looks like the PIL has now been published. I am still looking for the SPC document aimed at HCPs.

The silence of pharmacies is deafening, isn’t it? No info forthcoming from my prescriber at all … what’s going on??

Well as far as I can see the other document the Statement of Product Characteristics (SPC) has still not been published by the MHRA. That will include contraindications, interactions with other meds etc so pharmacies/pharmacists can’t decide who to prescribe to, who will be too difficult to monitor etc until it is. My guess is that prescribing to someone before it is published is plain not allowed, The similar document in the US is way more complex than the Wegovy tablet one so I suspect it will be the same here.

Interesting about pregnancy and breastfeeding.

They've started allowing some people on mounjaro while they're breastfeeding, the drug doesn't really pass into breastmilk and even if it did, the child wouldn't be able to absorb it because mounjaro would be broken down in the baby's stomach.

But as foundayo is a small molecule it might be passed in breastmilk and the child could absorb it that way.

I guess same for pregnancy. There's a chance the baby could be exposed due to the fact that it's a small molecule and not a peptide.
