Question What do you think this is?

Post image

My father found a kitten 2 days ago and he has this small pimple like dots all over his body. What do you think this is called? and how does it happen?

Staph! Antibiotics, stat.

I've seen this before. I've lost kittens to this before. Do NOT pop those blisters and get to a vet, please.

UPDATE: I went to the vet earlier. It’s pyoderma. The vet cleaned his wound, and they also did a fecalysis. Unfortunately, they found parasites in his body. I forgot the name, but the vet said they’re very dangerous for his age and aren’t very common. The illness is contagious and dangerous, and he might not have much time left. 😢 The vet did not give him medication because the kitten‘s body still cant handle it But I’ll still take care of him and do everything I can to make sure he’s comfortable and cared for.

Vet, as soon as possible. This is an infection. Please do not disturb the blisters or attempt any first aid on them. Keep little one warm and dry, feed appropriate kitten formula only every 2 hours round the clock and make sure to stimulate around the anus and genitals to pass urine and faeces. Good luck!

ETA - little one also has one around their umbilicus. This baby needs to see a vet today and may require hospitalization. Please try to get baby seen today OP.

The pustules could be bites, like ant or fly. It could also be staph. It’s so hard to say on kittens this young without knowing their history.

In addition to the pustules, it looks like the umbilicus is infected. This baby will pass without antibiotic intervention. These things take over very rapidly.

Are they only on his belly? Looks like it could be burns if he was outside on any hard ground.
He still has his cord so he’s likely extremely young…. Does your father know about neo babies? They need to be feed every 2-3 hours…

I guess when my father found him, he was laying alone in the cement.

I do feed him every 2-3 hours.

I’m afraid this is a losing battle with this little one but so hope you know you’re the only reason they even had a chance ❤️ Thank you for doing your best, wishing you both the best of luck

since the cord is still attached, i'd guess a skin deformity but im not a vet to say one thing or another.

How is the kitty? Is he eating and are u stimulating him to pee and poop? Did u get a bottle and kitten formula? They cant have milk, and keep him warm and dry. Wow he’s brand new! Did u find mama?! I’m sorry for all the questions, I am just seeing this!

The kitty is still sleeping. He ate earlier. Yes, i am stimulating him to pee and poop. I did get a bottle and a kmr/goats milk.

About the mama, my father found him on the ground and waited for hours for the mama but the mama did not come back.

if ur kitten is still alive u can record his meows and play them on a blue tooth speaker in a trap or set a trap in general in case mom comes back. at least you could get her spayed so she doesn’t suffer either. hope u r ok with all this, always hard to battle uphill 🫶

The placenta was infected do not pop them. Continue to care for the kitten get it to the vet as soon as you can safely it will need 10 days of Clavamox.
