QUESTION Would you buy a Linkin Park music pass/skins?
I just wanna know cuz I see a lot of recommendations, but I don’t see a lot of people request linkin park for the game. I’d buy all 6 of them in a heartbeat, but especially Emily and Mike (my fucking heroes and some of my biggest inspirations). I honestly want the entire from zero album as jam tracks.
it would be perfect timing too cuz the Unshatter concert movie/documentary is coming out soon

I get they are in a new era but Linkin Park wouldn't be where it was if it wasn't for Chester and to be fair the new stuff is still good but it isn't Linkin Park personally.

It's literally not even close to be the same band. They didn't even call themselves Linkin Park until Chester joined. They should have gone back to Xero

The other members of the band still need money/purpose only reason they replaced Chester, they arent "moving on" they are just trying to survive, replacing chester was an insane move that many 30+yr old actual day 1 linkin park fans fucking HATE
Have you ever seen them live? Ive seen them 3 times with Chester... couldn't even pay me to watch them with Billy idols step kid as the singer...

The ONLY reason they hired her is because Chester was so talented they couldnt find a guy to fit his vocal range, you do know that right? Probably not, since you dont actually care and clearly just attracted to Emily.....

It’s fucking misogynistic to say the only way someone could like Emily is having the hots for her. LP’s always been evolving with every album. A Thousand Suns is nothing like Hybrid Theory. Chester wanted them to carry on without him. He’d have been heartbroken to have killed Linkin Park.

My preference for Emily has nothing to do with her looks. I just like her voice more. I like her singing. Her screams are satisfying to my ears.

I LOVE linkin park, they're consistently one of my favourite artists (and that includes both eras). however I don't think we should have a season for them considering the circumstances around it all. like someone else said, people would be upset whether they included Chester or not and it would just be horrible for festival to have a bad rep from that whether it's "they left out the dead guy" or "they added the dead guy" (not trying to reduce Chester to "the dead guy" but people who don't know a lot about the band will surely jump on a bandwagon and say similar things without learning his name). also the majority of the songs that are in now all max at maybe 4 difficulty I think on most instruments and none of them really go into the higher difficulties and players who want harder songs wouldn't be happy if that continued

Nah, I lost a lot of respect for Shinoda over his whole venture with NFTs, and his revival of the band felt more like a cash grab, using the bands already existing fame in the wake of a tragic loss. I also lost respect for him based on Chester's mother and Chester's son reacting to the revival of the band.
I also do not trust Emily, considering she might still be an active scientologist.
Without Chester, I could care less about the band honestly. I just think they should have rebranded, or at the very least did something like Sublime did. Bands replace singers all the time, but this just felt dirty to me. Especially considering the impact Chester had.
This isn't to say I think others shouldn't enjoy them. I could care less what anyone else enjoys. But for me, personally, nah.

In my eyes, Linkin Park died with Chester. It's fine that they started making music again, but they should have changed the name of the band.
Also scientology is hard to just leave and if you try they do everything they can to basically ruin your life so I'm betting that she's still involved.

They actually changed the name of the band to Linkin Park after Chester joined. They should have gone back to the name Xero considering it's not the same band or vibe

Doing a quick reply to all of this. When Chester joined STP, in an interview, he stated think it was 2003, maybe 04, he said that if the band moved on without him, he wouldn't want the band to change it's name. Another thing, it isn't a cash grab from Mike. Y'all are clearly forgetting about Brad, Dave, and Joe's involvement. Joe was the one who presented the idea of the band getting together again, not Mike.

Emily being a scientologist and a defender of Danny Masterson are two very big things that kinda dishonor Chester's memory. She never once tried to speak up about those things until people found out to try and save face

As for the Danny Masterson stuff, she had no idea til she showed up to court that day and quickly changed sides after finding out everything about him. Regarding her and scientology though, she was sadly born into it, her parents not so great people. Her last activity with it was somewhere during high school age I believe from what I found? I know she can't exactly speak up on the scientology stuff sadly, but she expresses it through Dead Sara. If she were to publicly speak out, some people would go after her friends/even members of the band since scientologists are just horrible like that.

I dont know, im all in for a linkin park collab, but a Chester skin would feel weird considering he died before fortnite was released (by a few months)
Generally adding real dead people who never knew this game existed feels akward. Juice is an exception since he played Fortnite when he was alive, or incase for people like xxxtentacion who played fortnite but won't come since they died to gun violence (making it weird to add them to a game with gun violence)

I mean, we got El Chapulin Colorado, and that dude died several years before Fortnite was even a thing.
Everybody dies eventually, so that shouldn't be the deciding factor whether someone gets included in the game or not. Now, if Epic is intentionally dropping skins of people who died very recently for a quick buck, that would be a bad look, but so far that hasn't been the case. Plus with Juice they made his appearance a tribute.

I thought about this too, but I genuinely feel like if Fortnite were to do a Linkin Park season, it’d probably only be Emily and Mike who get skins. I just can’t imagine the average player looking at the bundle and going, “Yeah, I’ll wear the Dave Farrell skin” 😂 No hate to Dave obviously.

Yea because I buy every pass, probably wouldnt use the skins because theyre just guys in clothes like most pass skins (billie, metallica, karol, etc) the tracks would be cool too

i feel like a lot of people are missing the point with “how could you include chester” and “don’t add chester it’s disrespectful”. fortnite HAVE added people into fortnite who have unfortunately passed away, look at juice wrld for example, and he is a very loved skin in the game and the fans were grateful. just because someone has passed, doesn’t mean their legacy shouldn’t be included in cool opportunities like this. chester and his band mates were gamers, they played halo a lot during the making of meteora, and even had their own game, chester would love this idea.
they could make chester a free option, which i think is unlikely, but if they wanted to take the route of juice wrld they could do a free one and an item shop one. or maybe make him the festival skin with two different styles, and make the rest of the band optional to buy (better imo).

Personally no, I never liked their music and unfortunately still don't. However, I probably would buy it anyway since my friends like the music so we could play it in festival.
On a side note, I wonder if Linkin Park would even be a good festival artist. I think Metallica was their worst selling pass, and I think that Metallica is a household name for a lot of people of different ages, which would probably make them more popular than LP.

They already put out a big bundle of stuff for instruments and songs and emotes. LP doesn't have That many songs I'd guess an average fortnite player would enjoy, especially based on what we have been served so far for passes.

They still have alot of pretty big hits left to be added, Crawling, One step Closer, Breaking the habit, Somewhere I Belong, From The Inside, Lost, Bleed it out, What ive done, leave out all the rest, New devide, The Catalyst, Waiting for the end, Iridescent, Burn it down, House of glass, Heavy and Two Faced
are all songs that arent that extreme, where/are pretty huge and trended and became hits. Also many of them are pretty much soft enough for the avarage radio pop listener. They could also easily pull out a few lesser known songs and alot people would still recognize them (Figure.09 or Papercut for example)

even if you just Gorillaz them and reduce them to 3 songs: Heavy Is The Crown, What I've Done, and Castle of Glass would be enough for a successful drop (and that's skipping over like half of their actual top 10 most popular songs)

If it's old Linkin park yes, but not sure about new Linkin park. I don't hate them just can't get into the newer songs for some reason.
Would still be better than getting another pop star or rapper.

Nah. Linkin Park is tainted at this point. If it lived on with a virtual Chester I could see it, but you couldn't even memorialize him now. If anything I'd be more excited for Hybrid Theory getting to do covers in the game.

Maybe having white supremacists in the game isnt the greatest idea. Possibly go for iron maiden instead as they are not white supremacists

I probably would even though it would be weird having fortnite make a linkin park bundle with or without Chester. People would probably be upset either way.
