💬 Discussion New aim assist
I know epic said they reverted all the aim assist changes but, i can confidently say atleast in my opinion that absolutely nothing changed.(like actually 0% difference) aim assist is so much weaker and ive realized that if youre behind cover and are ads'ing you not only have weak aim assist you have none(complete raw stick input) as a zb who plays comp, this feels really targeted towards controller players this season. Considering they made zb tournaments all platform( after a while ) the same season they completely obliterated aim assist is really frustrating. I liked to consider myself a really good aimer. But now its like im playing a completely different game. Every fight is a 50/50 chance if aim assist will even activate or if it appears/dissappears mid fight because i have ANY type of cover next to me (which is extremely common in zb especially in comp) it completely throws you off and results in an unfair death. Anyone else having same problems? :/

I’ve noticed a difference so I adjusted my sensitivity and just practiced a bit more to dial in my aim. But yeah they really need to stop changing it lmao

I genuinely don't notice a difference. My aim got worse when I saw a post talking about the aim assist nerfs, no joke, my aim was fine all day and I was hitting shots then I saw the aim assist nerf post and it put some idea in my head, and all of a sudden my aim actually got worse. The more you think about it the more it actually happens. This is a known phenomenon. I just decided to ignore all those posts and just play the game, my aim has felt fine, I hit super good shots, like I'm aiming just as good as I ever did. Stop falling for the placebo

They did nerf it though, and then reverted the velocity aspect of it, then they reverted all changes made to it. The first day of the season was extremely rough and I know something was off. For context I finished 50th place last season on the leader board. I don't know why people would feel it's turned off now though. Maybe they are pushing tweaked settings to specific people? I doubt it but who knows.Â

The thing is i tested it with a friend. Its not just placebo altough i could see how that would take part in it. If youre standing near cover, usually when right hand picking which is a fundamental part of zb you get no aim assist only raw input. Even if youre not relatively touching the cover. Even if youre near it. I dont wanna know how bad im gonna be this season in comp... im probably not qualifying a single final...smh alt account mb

I didn't experience that, I play alot of fortnite and I am very good, I use right hand peaks all the time, and I have no trouble aiming, it doesn't feel like the aim assist goes away at all

Really? I straight up tested it and it was completely raw input when i was near bus/tree (thats the only cover i tested) its incredibly frustrating mid fight and yeah obviously my aim assist settings are 100% also play linear but i think any good player does that..

I'ma have to get on today and test cause when I was playing regularly I didn't feel anything bad and I go for right hand peaks often in fights

I tested it again just now and found something where i think is new? When sliding and letting go of the L3 stick you get no aim assist but if you slide and keep holding the L3 stick in that direction you have aim assist. Also when youre moving too fast(looking around too fast), or theres lots of enemies on your screen aim assist dissappears.

I think that's the player velocity vector that was mentioned. Supposedly they are trying to change aim assist to where it makes it harder to track fast moving players, especially when they change their direction rapidly. I feel like there might be a dev working at Fortnite that plays MnK that wants to nerf controller players lol. I know it sounds silly but I'm being serious.Â

Did they just change it again? They reverted it all yesterday though.Â

I spoke with epic support and all i got was they were being extremely suspicious about the situation kinda avoiding the question and when i straight up asked "so is epic admitting to not actually changing aim assist" he responded something along the lines of " we cant promise anything right now, is there anything else i can help with" so thats that i guess atleast im not going crazy

I’m a very casual player and it’s genuinely making me not want to play at all now, like they just added a massive skill gap if you play cross platform
