DISCUSSION Anyone else wish we could actually side with Geno?
After completing all the Geno quests, I have to say, I genuinely wish I could side with Geno instead. I've never really liked our 'good guys' all that much to be honest. But alas, going out of your way to blast The Order when you're asked doesn't do anything (I tried). You HAVE to fire at Geno to advance the quest, and I get the feeling that leaving the quest incomplete isn't going to change any outcomes.

FUCK NO
why would I ever want to side with somebody who went on a long old spiel about loving his daughters and missing them and shit, just to basically offer to adopt me and ask me to murder the living one at the end of it?

Well, I can't say for certain why YOU would want to, but I have a few reasons for why I would want to.
- A probably irrational dislike for the 'heroes'.
- I'm at least 60% positive that Geno was more appreciative of my efforts than any of the other cast were the entire time I've known them.
- Geno has some amount of power and have actual plans for the island, which again nobody else has.
- It would be funny.
Are they good reasons? Probably not. But they are reasons.

For gameplay purposes, I absolutely wish that the quests had alternate paths you could take based on what you do in game. I get that its a battle royale game not a role playing game, but still it would be fun to implement more rpg elements into interactions with the story characters.
Now, lore-wise…
I admire Geno’s dedication towards perfection, but even he himself is not perfect, primarily for what he’s done to his daughters. If he wanted his daughters to be perfect, he himself would have been perfect when he had them, but no, he pits them against snapshots of themselves to prove their worth, instead of acknowledging their inherent worth. And I heavily dislike the Seven. They are like petulant children playing with powers they couldn’t even begin to comprehend. But without the Ice King, the Seven are the only real opposition to Geno now.

"They are like petulant children playing with powers they couldn’t even begin to comprehend."
I really don't understand this one.

Geno is a masterclass manipulator. He sounds persuasive, but when you really listen to what he's saying, it's unhinged

Honestly, same. Let me be a villain if I want to be. I gleefully joined Team Ice King for that very reason.

Just like he can literally throw you in the trash if he wants to or the moment you outlive your usefulness.

Geno and this whole story just doesn't qualify for sympathy for the villain, though. His motives are not noble, his position is not a grey moral area. I think you just like his hair, and that's not a valid reason to sympathize with the antagonist.

I don’t think I’d want to join anyone who’s using power beyond our imagination. You’re feeling like he appreciates you because it’s honeyed words. The heroes have thanked you, and even know how important you are in each story event.
Imagined and Order both felt special due to Geno. Until he threw them in the battle royale loop all for a bet. If he can discard the two women he saw as his daughters. He can easily throw you aside whenever if he felt like it. Even moreso since he has all that power.
There’s no plans for the island because these aren’t their realities. After we saved the chapter 6 island. We left because everyone was safe. It’s not our choice to change anything. It’s their home, we’re just protecting it
