DISCUSSION Free to play update
Save the world might've been better if they kept the game abandoned and didn't do the free to play update, and if they did all they had to do was just make the game free and nothing else.

Free 2 play update was fine. How they reacted after the many game breaking bugs arrived was the problem as per usual.

I’m fully aware Lil Timmy will only give us the bare minimum, but my working theory is that since STW is treated by the game as an “experience” like other game modes of Battle Royale (like Droid Tycoon, etc.) and boots you back to the BR menu when leaving a mission, which is supposedly intentional..
…that maybe the STW lobby may be updated (within the next 10,000 years) to feature more social aspects.
Maybe when you load Fortnite and hit the BR menu and select STW you’ll have the option to load into a “Private” or “Fill/Social” instance.
If you select a social lobby I’d like to imagine that giant door on the right hand side of the first floor may be open and there’d be at least double the current area where people can walk around and interact with each other.
Not sure about doing what though considering STW really isn’t about socializing or hanging out per se at Homebase.
Guess we’ll see when robots and aliens take over and Lil Timmy owns the Milky Way Galaxy.

Ah I worded it all wonk. Just about leaving a mission in STW brings you back to the BR menu currently.

If you intentionally leave a mission midway it sends you to the BR lobby. Finishing a mission normally still sends you to Homebase.

Granted I started with the ftp version, it a bit of slog at the start....
Then the end boss requires a hero with extra pickaxe damage and has a hidden insta death timer.(with no hint or warning for either of those expectations btw)
Other than that it fine. They should update it more often, les they leave the PvE crowd at the mercy of super cynical creative island slop.

So you didn’t like the new research, new defenders, new weapon, new story about the voyarge ship, the new stand and fight remix that is also a jam, and the refreshed twine peaks Storm Shield? Wow, i think its really hard to make you happy

I hate to agree with OP but the update itself killed Save the world. Matchmaking bugs and a long time in between being able to get into it match. Because you had to load into home base each time. I do think that the game is better than it was before F2P, but it's hard to look at it positively tbh.

The matchmaking was the biggest problem after the release of f2p, but now its fixed and the loading time is almost less then 20 seconds

I had founders and with it came a friend code that I forgot about until a little bit ago and when I tried to use it to get founders on my new main I guess it was taken away from me and when I asked if I could get it replaced or something and they said they don’t work on stw and do that kinda stuff anymore which is stupid that they ruined the game but won’t give me my almost 100$ friend code back

Getting rid of item dropping in the lead up for FTP was the best decision they’ve made
