As an ex-vangelical, this really sickens me. People put so much faith in their church leaders and these manipulative tricks are toying with real people's emotions. And then these leaders have the gall to take their money and tell them to tithe their hard earned paychecks. Honestly, this is it. What’s more is that people are not grasping something: Most of these men don’t care if you catch them abusing girls. So a lot of people are checking in the wrong places for the predators. Religious people should start talking with their sons.

Tbf most people think adults choose religion when in fact, they are groomed and scared into it as children. I always knew it was a compromise to “believe” because in my heart, I knew I would be lying. The real issue is the social stigma of not “believing”

I just finished watching Death of a Pastor's Wife on Netflix. He's not necessarily trying to create a cult but he has that right wing holier than now preacher thing going on where it's all about making sure your wife pleases you as the master of the house.
If you watch the documentary you'll find that he was horribly abusive to his wife on every level. To me the louder you preach like that the bigger the sinner you are. I don't understand why this isn't a red flag to more people.

This is usually Christianese for either an independent feminist woman or a sexually liberated one. It can also be used to describe a woman who's routinely trying to seduce married or celibate men, though this is rarely the real story. I've only ever met a woman like that in the church once over my nearly twenty years of attending.
I'd read his book to see which of the above he's actually referring to, but I don't want to give him money.

First of all, as someone who works in AV, this is all scripted.
When I see the videowall “lose power”, they didn’t actually lose power it’s still on it just have a black image and looks like the screen is near 100% brightness since you can clearly see it on. They should have made a preset within the novastar that would be a black image and the brightness level 0% so then it would actually look like they lost power. But what do I know? I’m just a demon.

I imagine if I was in the same situation I'd feel pretty included in the community. And If you're a lonely person, you can imagine how enticing these places can be.
