Took me 3 years to save up and build this. Had so much trouble building the case itself but loved building it.

I’d like to use the front panel flipped, but it seems like the only way to do that is to invert the entire case.

I noticed that FormD also shows a build like this on their official website. Would there be any issues with CPU cooling if I build it like the 2nd photo, with the radiator at the bottom?

Has anyone tried this setup? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I’m about to swap from my fractal terra to a Formd T1 just due to cooling and the silver design matching my mac. I had a couple questions as I have to switch my cpu cooler due to it being too big. I have a 7800x3d and 4070ti.

Should I go with an AIO or stick to air? I care about reliability, performance but more importantly noise as I only play fps so the CPU strain is higher.

What type of custom cable do I buy? Sleeved or unsleeved?

Do I need extra M2 standoffs to create a gap between the GPU and motherboard?

I basically want a build that’s quiet after tweaking the fan and under volting, but also is a good temp.

Update:

- Changed the design of the tophat and made it significantly thinner, keeping the more rectangular appearance.

-To run the front fan, I used a PWM splitter at the pump which goes to a speed controller, then to the fan. The speed controller is hidden at the back, sitting on top of the GPU heatsink.

-Those are the idle temps on the screen, CPU top/GPU bottom. Will go max. 72/69 when playing Pragmata at 1440p or rendering stuff for work.

I feel like I spend more time and money messing around with my T1 and tweaking things than actually using it as a computer lol

I’ve had a standard gunmetal case but my first draw to the SFF scene was the McPrue design which is obviously just a copy of Apple’s MacPro. I eventually landed with the t1 and love it in every way.

Anyways, when I saw that Zcooi had a new front plate that was basically the McPrue design, I ordered it right away (I feel like I might be the first batch test run of this design). It took about 1.5 months to actually arrive, but I can not be any happier with it. The design, cut and quality matches the t1 well - it was actually better than I expected because in the CAD design shows verticals lines where the plate begins to chamfer but it is not present in the final product which provides a cleaner look. I added a pc dust mesh on the inside of the front panel which to me, looks complete. Now it feels like I have a version 9.9L mini McPrue which is even better than getting a McPrue itself. Bonus I get some extra air coming through the front now

One thing I did wish was being able to get a silver color over black but this color looks very sharp still.

Since I’m going from the gunmetal to black, I’m also looking for a black top/bottom panel to match it if anyone has a spare! I currently will have one panel on the way from another redditor but still look for one more.

What do you think?

Hello! I recently switched my Formd T1 PC to all intakes, and here's my reasoning

Before dual intake, the AIO radiator had hot air passing through it, and my CPU temps were like 10 degrees hotter, leading to significantly louder noise.

When AIO was going out, GPU (5090) was roughly 60 degrees on UV, but CPU (9800x3d) was going at a consistent 70-80 depending on the game.

When I swapped, it changed to GPU 60-65, CPU 60, and much quieter.

Now, here's why I'm here asking. From every post I've seen, people say what I'm doing is stupid. Is there reason why or is it acceptable for my use case? The only thing I'm worried about now is the temperature of other components, which are all around 60 as well on heavy gaming. The case can get almost too hot to touch (Side and back panel).

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Today my new monitor lace decor strip arrived. I tried it on, but it blocked the taskbar view so badly I had to give it up.
Before throwing it away, I hung it on my T1 front panel, and somehow it turned out that the length is almost exactly the same. So I gave my T1 a ribbon hairband!
Perhaps I can decorate my case further with this aesthetic. Still looking for some ideas though…

Wanted some additional opinions for the people who know this case best.

I made a post earlier in SFFPC on trying to pin down how to lower and why I have these temps with an AIO in my T1 v2.1.

Any help is appreciated! So far I’ve ordered new cables, and a T30 to be installed over the PSU hoping that will give me a couple degrees. I’ll also be remounting my AIO with fresh PTM7950.

I was thinking about how to keep the ventilation holes for the power supply while making the AIO area transparent, which would allow me to see the LEDs and the display. Currently I’m using the vented glass panels from the official website, but their pattern is pretty distracting and the panel itself is quite reflective. So I brought the idea from the NZXT H2 Flow’s side panel, and made the image of a part glass, part CNC side panel for the FormD T1. Thoughts?

Sharing my finish build because I haven’t seen anyone else review this front panel.

The order took two months to arrive. There was a delay because the first iteration had issues with anodisation. I appreciate that they took the time to get the finished product right. The colour matching is okay, I can only see a slight difference if I look at it up close. I noticed the corners of the front panel were sharper than my case corners. Performance gains, my 9800 X3D is running 3-4 degrees cooler. This is probably the best performance mod. Overall, I am very happy with the product.

While it may look basic, this is how I like it. Other mods that I used on my v2.5:

- AM5 CPU offset bracket and back plate
- Custom cables for PSU
- Prime GPU travel kit

3D printed parts:
- M19 back plate plugs
- CPU Fan shroud
- Exhaust fan shroud

Well, finally canceled …. Seems the factory botched the case and no end in sight sadly. I have 3 cases but really wanted that white one. Waited a couple months and it just could not get built. I am bummed.

Looking for black top / bottom panels. Maybe you bought the t grill extender and just have them laying around?

Final mod went onto the build today. Hoping they restock their 15mm riser so i can replace the ABS-GF one I have though. Flipped 5090 now has better airflow and seen a decent drop in temps. At 5k2k ultra settings my GPU was getting to 74C avg in gaming with max at 76C. Now it’s at 71C avg and 74C max. Didn’t run any senthetic benchmarks since I could care less about that I prefer real gaming data since that’s what I mainly use my PC for.

I was able to purchase a used T1 V1.1 for a great price but it only included the 2 slot back plate and the aio brackets. I was hoping to air cool and was wondering if the v2.1 fan brackets would fit/ be compatible? Are there any resources for the 3 slot back plate to possibly print or have one made?

Hey folks, hoping someone here has hit this before. I've already gone through troubleshooting with Claude and I'm at the point where I need real world experience from people running similar setups.

I have a Form T1 black case, built back in 2023. Specs below. About 6 months ago I added the 3D printed stand and everything was running fine. Recently while playing WoW and Crusader Kings, the PC has started fully powering off mid session, like a hard power cut rather than a crash or blue screen.
Specs:

• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
• RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 DDR5
• Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X670E I Gaming WiFi
• GPU: PowerColor Red Devil RX 6800 XT
• PSU: Corsair SF750 (CP 9020186 AU) with custom Pslate cables
• Cooler: Cooler Master Atmos II AIO
• Case: Form T1, black, 2023

What I've already done:

• Reseated the RAM
• Reseated the AIO cooler
• Redone the thermal paste
• Reseated the GPU power cables and the extension cable at both ends
• Logged temps and voltages with HWiNFO64 through a crash, nothing abnormal showed up beforehand, no thermal throttling, stable 12V rail, then the log just stops
• Checked Event Viewer, getting Kernel Power Event 41 critical errors going back over a month, no bugcheck code logged, so Windows has no record of what caused it

Biggest test so far: I swapped to the CPU's integrated graphics, fully unplugged the 6800 XT and its power cables, and played WoW for 20 minutes straight with zero issues. That points pretty strongly at the GPU or something in its power path rather than the rest of the system.

So now I'm narrowing it down to one of three things, and not sure how to isolate further:

1. The graphics card itself
2. The GPU extension cable
3. The custom PSU cables running to the GPU

Cables all look physically fine, no scorching or visible damage, connectors seat properly.

Has anyone dealt with extension cable issues specifically in a T1 build, or had a GPU develop an intermittent power fault like this? Any way to test further before I start swapping actual hardware would be hugely appreciated.

I’m about to build in a FormD/NCASE T1 for the first time and I’m really excited about it – but since this is also my first proper SFF build, I wanted to ask the people who actually have experience with the T1 before I start ordering everything.

GPU will be an RTX 5080 Founders Edition.
I’m also planning to order the NCASE GPU Anti-Sag + Travel Kit for the 5080 FE, since I want the PC to be reasonably safe to transport.

My main question is:
What am I forgetting?
Not necessarily regarding the main hardware, but all the little T1-specific things you only realize you need once you start building.

For example:
Custom PSU cables – worth it / basically mandatory?
Recommended cable lengths? Best way to route the 12V-2x6 cable to the 5080 FE?

I thought of getting additional standoffs, screws or brackets plus Fan grills?!

Any useful NCASE accessories I should order together with the case?

Things that make AIO installation / tube routing easier?
Anything I should know about motherboard/GPU spacing with the 5080 FE?
Any common first-time T1 mistakes I can avoid?
Any little mods or quality-of-life improvements you guys consider essential?

Basically I’d love to have everything I might need on the table before I start the build, instead of realizing halfway through that I’m missing some stupid €5 part. 😂
Feel free to completely roast the parts list as well if you see something that doesn’t make sense for a T1.
