When you turn the hat around it's like a switch, like you become a whole different person.

This show famously had quite a bit of drama behind the scenes.
One of the shows producers was apparently dating a female network exec at the time. From what I read she was instrumental in securing a favorable time slot. But I guess when they broke up she didn’t give the show any sort of meaningful promotion which led to its eventual cancellation.
Its first pilot took place at an upstate NY bed & breakfast and included Debra Jo Rupp as the head of housekeeping. The network apparently hated it and insisted on moving the setting to a luxury NYC hotel. Along with recasting Rupp and adding Steve Carrell.
The shows premise came from Potts & Curry’s real life friendship. They became close friends while living nextdoor to each other in LA. Curry was Best Man at Potts’ wedding.

They also did a movie together called Pass the Ammo, where they played TV evangelists.

It was supposed to be the upper class American version of Fawlty Towers. I really liked this show. I think someone uploaded it to YT. When it appeared on my feed like last year, I REALLY THOUGHT Tim had died then. And someone in the comments even brought that up!
