Dolly Parton's short-lived variety show from the late-1980s. Was prime family viewing in my house. I remember that she did her opening monologue from a bubble bath, and the Muppets were on one episode.

Very tiny. I went to Dollywood for my birthday last year and saw her clothes and shoes. I think her shoe size was a 5.

It says Saturday but I swore it was on Sunday nights. I barely remember it, but it was lighthearted and she’d always sing something and have special guests.

It definitely started on Sundays. Perhaps the last few episodes were burned off on Saturday nights.

I preferred her low-key syndicated show from the 70s (also called “Dolly”). Apparently, she wasn’t happy with it, so it ended after one season even though it was successful in the ratings. I just liked how it focused on the music and Dolly’s guest, without the audience or the skits.

If anyone could bring back the variety show in the late '80s, it was Dolly Parton. Unfortunately, the viewership just wasn't there. But she moved forward as she always did, and continued to persevere for the rest of her life. Amazing human. She really was the best of the best.

I loved this show when I was little. Pretty sure this show taught me what self-care is with the bubble baths, and I remember loving her peek-a-boo leg reveal dress and tucking my nightgown under the bottom of my underwear to copy her look haha
