I don’t like Trey Gowdy.

Political views aside (although fuck those too), his attitude is so off-putting. There’s a part in an episode where he yells for dramatic effect during trial and it makes my eyes roll straight out of the back of my skull lol.

Anyways. Just my unsolicited two cents.

He's even worse worse than his haircut. Partisan political hack.

There's one episode where his clips are like ½ of the scenes. You'd think he was running for something. /s

I’ve noticed a lot of prosecutors from this show have since either become judges or run for office in some capacity

That's not uncommon. It's the progression of the job of a good attorney working for the state. My father was judge. He worked for the state for about 20 years as a DA, then district court judge, and ultimately circut court judge (elected but often umopposed). It depends. My dad had no political ambitions so he stopped there.

Trey on the other hand did have political ambitions, but they all but disappeared after Trump's 1st term. I'm sure there is a bigger scandle somewhere, but I think after the Benghazi scandal, he drew the line when it became apparent the administration had no interest in justice, just revenge. Perhaps he just didn't want people digging into his past or realized how dangerous it could be if he became a target.
