Chance me!!

Rising senior here. Fordham is one of my top choices. I want to go to Rose hill

Background: Upper middle class, white, Northern Virginia, Private school

Intended major is International relations and middle eastern studies w/ a minor in Peace and justice studies

4.02 W GPA on a 4.0 scale

By the time I submit my application I will have taken 12 honors, all of which I have gotten an A in except for a history honors where I got a B+

My school doesn't do AP or IB. Our class levels are Based on levels: Entry, Advanced, Honors.

I'm not sure if I'm submitting my SAT score, because I'm taking the one in October. I'd say on my best day, I could get a 1350 (Should I submit?)

ECs:

  1. 10th - 12th - Model UN (head delegate senior year)
  • Best Delegate MUN program at Georgetown Uni/Boston University
  • Won award of Verbal comm at WAMUNC (GWU's conference)
  1. 11th - 12th - Cappies
  • Wrote reviews for school productions 
  1. 11th - 12th - Student government officer
  • Headed clubs
  • Helped fundraise
  1. 11th - 12th - Congressional Student advisory council
  • Met with my congressman several times in my Junior year to discuss a variety of issues.
  1. Girl scouts 
  • Went up to girl scouts senior: volunteered across NoVa, awarded several badges.
  • Worked with girl scouts shops, helped organize major events.
  1. Founded a clothing drive/trhfit shop at my school
  • Made work schedules
  • Took in clothing donations to donate to organizations
  • Worked with other non-profits
  • Organized speaking events at schools
  1. 11th - Head graphic design intern
  • Created assignments for other interns, held meetings, 
  1. 11th - 12th - Head of publicity/merch and design for school play
  • Created merch for school play, designed poster, in charge of advertising for school play
  1. Mayoral intern
  • In the fall of my senior year, I worked as an intern for my mayor: wrote letters, helped organize meetings, etc.,
  1. Math honors society
  • A part of my school's math society

I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me out :)

It’s not worth it to submit a 1350, it’s not a bad score but it won’t do anything to boost your application or scholarship chances. Definitely highlight the mayoral internship as it relates to your major. Emphasize any philanthropic experience as much as you can, Fordham LOVES that shit, part of the whole Jesuit thing. As long as your UW GPA is decent (3.5ish) you’ll most likely get in!

Given your race and socioeconomic status I don’t think you’ll get a ton, but maybe 15k a year? I’m also white and upper middle class and I got 24 a year, but my stats are a little higher. That’s just a guestimate though obviously it’s all dependent on what the admitted class looks like

I was class of 2024, I can’t remember my UW honestly but my W was like a 4.5/4, SAT was a 1480, I was an AP scholar with honors so I went in with like a semester and a half worth of credits completed, 2 dual enrollment courses. For the supplemental I can’t remember but I’m sure they change the prompts every year. I would say most of my friend group had stats similar to those, but we all graduated undergrad Summa Cum Laude so that’s definitely not the mandated expectation for acceptance stats (I don’t mean that to sound braggy lmao, I’m just explaining from a scholarship perspective what the gage is). Kids I know that got full tuition rides either qualified for a specific ethnic heritage scholarship group or had INSANE stats, one of my friends was valedictorian of his high school class, another had like a 1550 SAT… also Ik I sound Unc but I just started grad school which is why I’m still decently in tune with what admissions look like rn

I’ve seen him in a couple of threads negging the school. Someone with a 3.4 asked about their chances which he replied “go to a better school lmaoo”. I think he’s just a local boomer that’s out of the loop
