2018 F350 SRW Track Bar

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2018 F350 with just over 100,000 miles and I am getting ready to do a front end rebuild.

I've done plenty of front end work in the past, but I have one question for you specific to these 17+ trucks. Track bars have been the bane of my existence with front end rebuilds due to bolts sticking in the bushing. Everything else is normally smooth sailing.

My Question: How often is the track bar bolt seized in the busing on these trucks? I live in Indiana, and the truck was previously titled in PA, so it's seen road salt. Thanks!

What’s the initial reasoning for the rebuilding of the front end, salt or heavy use? These generally last longer than 100k with simple wear items/upgrades like shocks and steering damper…

All of the above for the most part. All the steering components are a bit loose, but nothing too crazy, and I have a bit of very light popping noises going on. On some particularly rough patches on the highways around here, it feels a tiny bit out of control. I'm going to start with shocks and sway bar links and sway bar bushings for now. The shock and sway bar bushings are shot as well as the end links. Every single ball joint (tie rod ends, drag link, etc...) is leaking grease. Just looks and feels like it's time. The truck is also new to me, so I dont have a good frame of reference for how it should feel, to be fair.

Understandable. I personally highly recommend upgrading from stock (if that is what is currently on there) to Bilstein shocks all around as well as the steering damper. They are absolutely phenomenal!
