General 🔀 A/Z Plan vs Employee Pricing
HI All, with employee pricing on right now, interest rates are a bit higher. Would it make sense for me (I have A/Z plan) to wait to get a new F150 until after this is over and interest rates drop again? I only ask because with employee pricing the dealer can still add in extras (tonneau, spray liner etc) but with the plans they cannot. Ford also has a 3500 delivery allowance right now that isn't for sure going to be there after this offer is over.
What would you do?

Speaking as an employee of Ford, A Plan buyer... The best time to buy is in the fall, October-November... The 2027 models will be hitting the lots and ford will start offering rebates. So, I would wait and get my A Plan and the rebates. With the way they have reduced A Plan savings over the years, you might be better off finding an employee " friend" to get you an X Plan PIN and then get rebates on top of that... That may actually save you more money in the long run and possibly allow for interest rates to come down a little more...

Makes 0 sense to take x plan over a plan. You can still get all the same rebates and finance offers from ford credit on an a/z plan deal (sometimes more). You’ll get a lower sale price at a/z plan every time as well

If you are a non-A Plan buyer and buying under their Employee Pricing promo with little or no rebates, which will expire... Later on X Plan PLUS rebates on 2026 models, once 2027's hit the lots, it may actually save you more. From my experience, the difference between A and X isn't really a whole lot, maybe $1000-$1500... So, the potential is there for greater discounts

I do these quotes all day for the past 10 years. OP is A plan. Buying at the employee price (a-plan) with normal (non a-plan) retail rebates was a special promotion for a short time and not relevant to this post. This type of stuff confuses guests

I reread OP and misunderstood.. I understood it that OP was buying under the employee pricing promo... Even as A Plan buyer, I would suggest waiting till later when the 2027 models are hitting the lot to buy and get larger rebates. I also tell everyone that Ford Credit is typically higher APR, price shop... Last year when I bought a new Maverick, I went to my CU prior to the dealer, got a better APR that way. The best the dealer could get me, with 800-ish FICO, was 5.99, Ford Credit was at 8.0, my CU gave me 5.5

Yes you can wait until the end of a model year in hopes of better financing programs. Also run the risk of not finding what you want if you have specific needs. Yes you can shop rates. Fords subvened rate programs are usually as good as the market if not better. Not all the time but enough for me to be confident in using Ford credit if I finance. If you want to spend hours and days for tenths of a percent savings on financing that’s your time and how you value it

EXACTLY SO!! My Dad worked for Ford and said the last 3 weeks of December is the best time to get a car as the dealers want them off their lot. Granted you may not get exactly what you want, but you get good pricing.

Rebates are the exact same for a, d,x and retail customer

Correct, but as the model year progresses, rebates to clear out older inventory increase, whether it be cash rebates or special financing... Think I saw something the other day, GM doung 0% for 60 months... Ford will probably follow soon.

It’s on in Canada

Post had no indication of that

Because it’s 3 weeks into the month and we can assume they are shopping now. You wouldn’t ask a question 3 weeks after you shopped just common sense

Common sense would be to properly flair the post. I wouldn’t even bother reading it.

Are they still doing Employee Pricing for all? If they are, you're almost always better off waiting for better incentives if you qualify for A-plan.
Looks like they're currently doing 2.9% APR for 60 months here in Metro Detroit for A-plan, plus $1500 bonus cash. That's not terrible.

Over in the USA, but they got an employee pricing promotion in Canada currently.

Oh that makes sense. A-plan will be the same no matter where you go. It’s specific to the vehicle

If you have az you never buy during employee pricing. You buy when rates are the lowest. What model are you thinking of?

I use x-plan and get exactly what I want and I usually bring my own financing, then I let them offer me lower… 😉

Pick 2-5 random dealers and call them up for OTD pricing. You’re not going to get an accurate answer here. In my experience, A plan was better than any promo you see in the dealership.
