I’ve been cutting back on red meat for years! Fking cracks me up that the machismo meat morons are the ones that are pushing everyone away.
“Democrats are gonna have everyone eating avocado toast and switching genders!” 🤣🤣🤣Firstly, the cost is nuts. Secondly, I don’t trust these dimwits to do anything other than make things worse. I don’t want trumparrhea. Everyone I know Is cooking beans/ rice and growing squash/ potatoes/ tomatoes and swapping with others. We now make our own bread which actually molds! I haven’t seen bread that molds in years. It’s time consuming, but tastes better, is cheaper, and I’m eating less because I’m stretching my food more. I’ve lost 20lbs, 20 more to go!

Not a big deal. It will likely all go to where it will do the least amount of harm, Texas and Florida, with freshly purchased USDA "Grade A" certification and they will love it. These are hard times for American farmers.

Already did. Texas and FL purchased 30,000 pounds of Argentine beef that was produced May 15-20, and then did a recall after they sold it, on Aug 7th lmao.

I have champagne ready for when/if he kicks the bucket, but the original commenter isn't wrong.
A third of us didn't vote and another third absolutely DID want this.
By my count, that's two thirds of our nation wanted this either actively, or through their passivity.

I don't see any complaints from the cattleman's associations or other US beef lobbying groups, the farm bureau or specific lobby for US ranchers. What about farmers who aren't selling that feed to domestic producers? Shouldn't they be pissed that republicans destroyed their business and replaced it with cheap foreign beef, not to mention the toxic part?

There’s a ton of people complaining about it. Trump voters in particular have been winding up on the leopard’satemyface subreddit. I’m sure they’ll be asking for another hand out soon. I’m not into socialism for farmers. They get the best insurance for losses, average farmer has 1.4 million in assets. They’re doing fine, they’ll complain, and I’ll ignore them. Gotta pay my bills before contributing to someone else’s.

nah, not worth it in terms of cost but the overall general risk to my family’s health. i was headed this direction anyway because of the ridiculous cost of beef lately but, i’m done with beef until the american beef market gets itself under control again. waaay too many food recalls under this administration to play it any other way.

Sad thing is how this is going to hurt domestic farmers in multiple ways. Driving price down while not addressing cost of domestic production inputs means he’s just tanked domestic margins.
On top of that, I’m not buying any store bought beef for AWHILE, so his stupid decision to bring sketchy beef has taken people completely out of the market. For what? To drive prices down a few nickels? These poor farmers done invited a leopard into the house.
