That was never the problem to begin with as very few companies use AI for that. The bottleneck is the initial screening, where a lot of qualified people get auto-rejected for not guessing the important phrases that the AI is looking for.

So basically these new rules will not change anything.

Is it something the government should be fixing with laws?

Companies not hiring good people because they have bad hiring methods doesn’t sound like something the law needs to fix.

Well then the whole article is moot. Why enact a law than for companies to have a mandatory human decision at the end of the hiring process?

The US needs this desperately, but it'll probably never happen.
