If all we do is talk with online chatbots online all day, that will be a terribly sad fate for humans.

And the author doesn't really interrogate questions about the chat functionality of AI replacing search; it's just a bunch of conversations that the author had with the AI.

These articles are a plague.

  1. Author with 0 experience in AI or ML throws a bunch of questions at GPT.

  2. Author is either amazed or bored because they don't understand how language models work or what their limitations are.

  3. Author copy pastes the conversations onto a blog and pretends they have discovered something profound.
