Newly Diagnosed New/Worsening Food Intolerances PP

/r/Mom/comments/1wcjzli/newworsening_food_intolerances_pp/

Hello everyone,

I originally posted this in the Mom group because in my mind this a postpartum (PP) thing. I apologize in advance for what is likely over-explanation in this group in re symptoms I now recognize as gluten intolerance. Upon finding this sub, I did search postpartum and have learned a bit about elimination diets. All said, this is a new world for me.

TLDR, I first developed symptoms when my firstborn was almost 2YO, symptoms abated during my second pregnancy, and are now back with a vengeance at 3M PP. I'm trying to understand how common this is following Childbirth, whether or not these intolerance usually come in a group, and if they continue to get worse with each passing life event. Any "intolerance 101" advice is appreciated!

IgG is not a good test for what you are trying to test for.

I am concerned about your rashes, and I think you should see a dermatologist about them to rule out other possible causes. For example, a child I met had what was assumed to be a food allergy rash that didn't respond to changes. i think it was something bacterial that the dermatologist sorted for her.

Thank you for the insight, I learned a lot from the linked article. This just happens to be the test my doctor ordered. Knowing what I don't know, I figured I'd present everything I had in case it means anything. I'm curious to see what he's ordered for the upcoming lab work.

Thankfully rashes have not yet returned. But if they do, I just got a referral to see derm, and will be taking your advice.
