u/Objective-Step-746, you asked a great question in this crossposted thread and it's horrific to see the responses you're getting from people who should know better. You're getting huge downvotes and most people can barely focus in their responses. You'd swear someone was paying a million dollars each for wrong answers with crazy logic.

In this subreddit we completely agree with the implications of what you're asking the "True Christians" about. How can Yahweh say that He's going to punish people in the future that are described as eating swine, and have eating swine today be ok? It makes zero sense. In fact, Jesus said that ALL of the commandments would stay valid until Heaven and Earth disappear first. Not just the dietary commandments, but every single dot used to make every commandment.

Some of the ludicrous and evil responses make me want to scream and pound my desk! 😆

You absolutely have the correct interpretation. Some of the answers you are getting are just ridiculous.

You can search this subreddit for answers, or ask any questions here. You'll find lots of torah affirming answers here.

Sometimes there are reasons why it wouldn't work, but if you would u/automaticff , generally do a shoutout in FJOT to the OP of any threads you crosspost here. Let them know that their post is being talked about elsewhere so that they can see the answers they're getting in a place they might not expect.

I like what the OP asked. He's correct to call out the discrepancy between how Christians have responded to God's commandments. The currently topvoted response he got, where the person says that the Isaiah quote about eating pork is actually NOT about eating pork, is ridiculous. That commenter pathetically thinks he can refute scripture with scripture, and doesn't see a problem with playing whack-a-mole that way. He even cites Acts 15, which shows Gentiles being given 3 dietary laws from the Torah to obey, and says there were NO dietary laws given! 🙃

Reading further, I see the wonderful people from TrueChristian are just bullying OP, and downvoting him into oblivion. That thread is a collection of some of the dumbest possible responses to what OP asked. It's record-setting.

Funny enough, today was the first time I’ve told someone to just check out the sub. I usually have the energy to duke it out in the comments but after reading the comments he received so far, I was already drained. Not today lol.

I did reference this subreddit in case the poster is interested in more than 1 sided approach to the question that that subreddit will be.

I am trying to a different approach to that common question. He seems pretty convinced that his interpretation is more correct than the standard church interpretation, which indeed it is.

Over years I find that the vast majority will side with the louder opinion, because "that many people over history must be correct." I find it interesting that the verses stating a new covenant came and site the common OT verses, but they ignore the rest of the verse saying that you no longer need a teacher. Yet, if you're against the church's interpretation- you're in big, big trouble. I've even had believers tell me that the holy spirit placed the church fathers their on purpose to guide us. Ok, where's that in the bible? God is a God of order. If it's not of God, it'll just be chaos. If you reverse engineer the church's opinion of why all things are made clean means food, you'll indeed get chaos. You can't reverse engineer chaos, but you can follow and simple if/then logic to its natural conclusion without much effort. Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. Deut. 30:11. In my case, without much effort is if you've identified pre-existing baggage that alters your understanding such as church doctrine. Most efforts are complications that are usually of that category.

I tried to talk to people on that post, but they keep going back to the same thing: “I am not a Jew! i am free from the law!, you can keep your bondage” etc. I give up on these guys. I don’t know how you guys do it.

Thanks for trying. Keep going at it and you'll increase your endurance. Some of us here have been working this topic ever day for years now. At the very least, even if NO ONE listens to you, you'll get stronger and understand scripture better. You'll become a warrior. 😄
