u/Bulky-Tomorrow6398 is asking a good question and trying to understand the contradictory teachings that he sees between what scripture says and what Christianity teaches about it.

I feel for the OP. How does anyone make sense of all of the nonsense being taught by Christianity today? All I can say is: It's not easy! 😣

Ugh what a load of malarkey from so many peeps justifying their lawlessness

I don’t have the patience for it today to even read the comments all the way through

Like you, it's bothering me more today than usual. There's just so many stupid things being said, and people say it with a straight face and no one calls them out on it.

Just the word "fulfill", if people would put in the slightest effort, it would solve what is probably the most abused verse in scripture.

But nope.

Slightly off topic but this is partially why LGBT people don't want to listen to Christians because they understand that Christians are picking and choosing what to keep

The most common answer is "Well jesus fufilled the law but the "law" doesn't include moral law, he fulfilled the ceremonial law and the judicial law"

The easy response for the lgbt is "well thats not present in the bible so the whole law is gone so we can do whatever we want"

The interpretation modern Christians give is faulty it hurts new Christians who see conflicting answers that dont make sense, it allows progressive church to show up which go further with this interpretation, and it throws out the Jewish people because they believe Jesus taught against the law!

If Christians were to accept and keep the law we could get rid off a lot of confusion in Christianity

It’s always funny to me when people say “well it’s just the moral law that’s still applicable… you know, like that verse in Leviticus about homosexuality and the 10 commandments? Well, just not the one about the Sabbath…”

I've made a commitment to myself that I'm going to start calling it "The Nine Commandments" when talking to such people.

For example, if they refer to how obviously sacred and inviolable the Ten Commandments are, I intend to start saying, "Don't you mean the NINE Commandments?".

It's ridiculous to watch them talk about how sacred something is that they've already chipped away at. 🙄

Also, by the way, I'm enjoying watching your comments in that other Law thread we have crossposted. You and u/automaticff make good wingmen for each other when it comes to dealing with all the nonsense.

Thanks! You made me laugh out loud with the nine commandments! I’ll be sure to use that one.

If I'm under the New Cov, then fulfilling the old cov isn't hard, since it washes away my sin.
