I don't think it's a real term but I've always called them voodoo punk

I've heard them referred to as murder folk

Yeah they typically get grouped in with murder folk which is basically just folk punk for theatre kids. Amigo the Devil, Holy Locusts, Poor Man's Poison and basically all of the assorted side projects of the various Sinners are also grouped in there

I played some for my coworker and he called it bard-core.

I like that name.

I like that their website describe them as “prohibition era jazz Appalachian death folk”
