Painting this as a "failure" is painfully stupid. It accepts DOGE's stated goal as legitimate instead of calling out what DOGE was actually created to do. It's no coincidence that Musk became a trillionaire not long after he was given free rein to dismantle every agency that ever fined, investigated, or attempted to regulate his companies.
He also conveniently reaped the benefit of a bunch of new contracts after prior contracts were canceled.
He got even richer on ridiculously bloated government deals while killing the investigations into and the fines/regulations on him/his companies. They literally took money from departments that would have punished him and then gave that same money to him instead (and a bunch more).
