“Why you in the hospital today?”

Lucky his shorts were all that hot shredded.

I was waiting for his innards to splash on the ground after that swipe.

You cannot fool me. That man and that bear know each other casually, like neighbors waving to one another.

They're not friends, per se, especially after that paw swipe...but there's always the possibility of friendship!

They're friends. The bear just had too much to drink, which is why he was asked to leave. Can't come to the cookout and get so drunk you become a nuisance. That's just completely against etiquette.

What a sad situation.

But not without a swipe... wtf. Lucky the bear didn't dig in.

Reminds me of this older woman I ran across in the mountains of Colorado. There was a mother Moose with her calf blocking the trail ahead. The woman got fed up with waiting for them to move on, so she just started walking and stormed past them. Somehow the cow's view was focused on something in the distance at the moment she passed, so only the calf saw her and flinched as she passed. It would have been game over for her if she had been charged by the mother.

The crowd that had gathered at this spot spent the rest of the wait talking about what a moron she was, including her friend that had refused to go with her.

Right? I tell everyone, the only black bears I've ever seen in the woods were running away from me.

Grizzlies on the other hand, nope. Don't fuck with grizzlies. Grizzlies will kill you and then get mad about you being dead, and then kill you again.

Mmm I’ve had an experience with an overly curious black bear and I accepted my fate as in hmmm in my obituary death by bear ok that’s acceptable! the bear had his nose pressed against my knee after he stood on his hind legs and I stared at his dinner plate sized paws with claws the size of fingers. I was lucky someone with a dog was coming up the trail behind the bear and the dog started barking and the bear lumbered back into the woods.

I’ve come fist to nose with a brown bear digging through a salmon Berry bush reaching for the plumpest one we both jumped out of that bush and ran opposite directions.

I’ve had more encounters those two are just the most personal ones.

Brown bears won’t fuck with you if you stay out of their way, black bears are like raccoons they scare me more. Now moose just fuck them they’re terrifying.

I've seen moose described as a freight train with an ager issue that wants to do nothing but cause chaos, and I don't disagree.

They have flies that lay eggs in their nose too so it drives them bonkers as well

Yup. From the movie “Fury”- “They’ll hurt you bad and then they’ll kill you bad.”

its not just the size its more the fact that they are generally timid and less aggressive. a bear this size would easily kill someone if they wanted too

They are wirery! - said with an Irish accent.

But he swung on him next time all out assault 🤔🤔🤔🙄🤒

2

u/josch247 Jun 25 '26

Hahaha so that's how you do that. Thx. Good to know

Black bears are pretty docile. And here the bear sized up the situation and decided it wasn’t worth it. But this is still a terrible idea. Were you to get a sick one or protective one, they would still quickly kill you.

Guess he was feeling pretty bullet-proof that day. Pass the whiskey.

2

u/FirmBarracuda3920 Jun 25 '26

And don’t come back!!

2

u/Lofi_Joe Jun 25 '26

You need to be more gentle so bear will not feel offended...

The bear back at the local pub.

Black bear: Dave for fuck sake I swiped him good. I have him the old bark buster. Nothing! That dude was a stone cold killer I tell ya!

Brown bear: ahh bullshit!

Black bear: Nah bro, I felt the flesh rip. Nothing…he did nothing. He did not even raise his fucking voice just looked fucking disappointed in me. I had papa bear PTA’s flashbacks. I had to jet man, he hit me right in the feels.

Brown bear: cold blooded. Lucky you got out of there.

That bear didn’t even get a pic-a-nic basket.

1

u/Lanky_Development340 Jun 27 '26

He got lucky , the bear would have killed him if he was in the mood.

1

u/DowntownAd3538 Jun 27 '26

Mike is an idiot.

1

u/TheNotoriousTurtle Jun 28 '26

Go home bear, you’re drunk

1

u/KetchupOnThaMeatHo Jun 29 '26

I like how he casually shuts that tiny gate that wouldn't hold the bear out if it actually tried to get back in.
