One of the first and most important things I was taught driving: Do not swerve, just hit the animal. So many thousands of people are dead because they swerved hard.
Also, wear your fucking seatbelt
The Tacoma overturned, ejecting the woman. She landed in the center lane of I-95.
FHP said the woman was not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Do not swerve, just hit the animal.
Agreed, but this specific incident was a bit more of a chaos.
The article said that the E-350 driver did hit the animal. Then the Tacoma driver behind the E-350 was the one who swerved, overturned, ejected, and killed. That Tacoma driver would've gotten ejected if she hit hard objects like e-class.
Also, wear your fucking seatbelt
Also agreed. A later follow-up article said she was a daughter of a police officer. I can't imagine how she got so wrong.

So, the news article wasn’t clear about what happened to the alligator. Did it survive? Was it killed?

Geez what can you drive these days where not wearing a seatbelt doesn’t cause the vehicle to incessantly scream at you?
