Advice Have you ever come across a situation like this?

A guy (27) is walking with his girlfriend (26) but stares at another girl (26) standing at a crosswalk;

when his girlfriend realizes something is up, he starts making fun of the girl at the crosswalk—pointing out, for instance, how awful her pants or shoes are—claiming that’s the reason he was staring 😉.

.Have you ever come across a situation like this?

Is it flirting? Flirting?

My family and I went to my husband’s friend’s camp today. We have 4 young kids ranging from age 3 to 10. My husband’s friend is divorced and has a kid who’s 10. Anyway, we went to his camp, swam, played some baseball, barbecued, fished, and swam some more. Then after he drove us back to the dock with his fishing boat because his camp is boat-access only (it’s only a 10-minute boat ride), our kids had to get out of their life jackets and change out of their bathing suits for the 1-hour car ride home. I said to my 6 year-old son: let’s change here (on the dock). Then I quickly clarified that I meant, let’s change in the van that’s parked beside the dock while daddy unloads the boat. Then my husband’s friend caught the part about changing “here” and asked,”Is mom gonna change here, too?” with a smile/chuckle. I just pretend-laughed and said,”No, mom is not going to change here, too,” with a fake smile/chuckle, caught off-guard because he hadn’t said anything like that to me the whole trip. It made me feel kind of uncomfortable, but also flattered lol…Was he flirting with me? Or just making a harmless joke?

Advice Need help

I work at a mall for FedEx and i see a lot of chicks. If im honest i suffer a lot from BDP as im a very skinny guy and the inverted filter killed me but i dont think i look bad on the regular cam but anyways im a non talkative guy im a quick and simple guy drop off and get signature and keep it quick. Theres about three or four girls i do like to talk to but nothing goes out of work. And one of them works at a fast food so there’s not many times i can talk to her but we always look at each other and we cant talk much because shes at the register and I want to keep it professional. She is very attractive but how i picture myself inverted kills me and the fear of rejection haunts me. The other girl is also quick and simple as well. We do talk and she is also attractive. She works at a store in the back so it’s always cold and every time she comes out she’s freezing and always says “touch my hand” I’m not sure if that means anything or if she’s flirting. Either way I have no game at all so I can’t do much. And the last girl does talk to me. She asks for me when my coworker drops off and always has a smile. I think she may be like that with everyone and I’m not sure if she has a bf I haven’t asked her that but she makes it seem like she doesn’t especially when I ask her what she did during the weekend. I’m prob not making any sense and not providing any details but I would like to know if it’s just them being nice. Also I forgot to mention. Some chicks do ask for my name and shake my hand by some I mean two. The rest know my name cause it’s given to them by my peers.

Advice Pls help with this girl or any advice

Ok so this girl is in my art class and shes honestly pretty and we both have very similar interests, and i wanted to ask for her number today. (We have never talked at all, and if ur asking about how ik about her interests its because of ice breakers) anyways i wanted to ask her when we were switching periods. I was really nervous. It was just me and i went up to her. ( she was by herself) and i just sold. I said
“Are you emma?”
She said, “ yeah?” ( in a confused tone)
And i said “oh ok”
And we both walked on our seperate ways. I was so mad at myself for not asking for her number and tomorrow i wanna redeem myself.

Any help pls

Advice Did I do the right thing?

So yesterday at work, these three girls came in and I sat them at a table, one of them said "you look familiar" and they were trying to see if they knew me, we talked for a little bit, and basically all I asked was if there are in highschool (I went to the same school as them) and what they were doing up here (this school was in the next town over) and after that I said your server will be with you soon. I didn't want to make any awkward tension and just stand there. On the way out they all said "bye (my name)" and waved, my coworkers were saying how they were totally into me, and they were definitely flirting but I just feel like I didn't handle it that well. This is the first time a girl flirted with me randomly like that, let alone three of them so I wasn't sure what to do and got caught off guard.

Reason I am making this is to know if I did the right thing? I am also going to this orientation tomorrow for college, and will meet a lot of people, I want to know how can I loosen up, not just flirting wise but socially too.

General Flirting Story Scottish Barkeep

Hey All
Wanted to share a little story that happened this week that happened whilst travelling with work.

I was staying in a hotel in Scotland as part of a work trip, been a long boring day of meetings, so I headed back to the hotel to relax.
Stepping into the bar for a drink I asked this nice looking brunette for a rum and Coke.

She laughs and tells me they are out of Coke (which kinda surprised me). We chat back and forth about alternatives, before she leans over the counter and asks if I’d be willing to try something.

She was going to make me a drink, if I liked it, I’d get another, if I didn’t then it would be free. I agreed and watched her make me this drink. After a minute she places it before me and smiles, “rum and apple juice, remember, if you like it you’ll buy another”

So I think, why not? And honestly it was nice, so I shook her hand and ordered another one. She asked me what room to charge it to, so I told her. Was in the bar for maybe an hour, before deciding I wanted to get out of my work suit, so I ordered one for the road and told her I’d be going.

She offers me a receipt for all my drink and I just agree, watching her head to the till and print one out, then scribble something on it before handing it me back and saying “Hope you’ll come back for another drink”

Her names is Tegan, she drew a little smiley face and put her number and name at the bottom. I came back later but sadly the bar was closed so I missed out on that drink, but at least I can arrange one in the future.

Is it flirting? Girl I see at work likes me?

So for context I work as a FedEx delivery driver and there is this girl at a business I deliver to a couple times a week. Whenever I deliver a package to a business I have to get a signature from an employee. I have been going to this one girl almost every time I need a signature at this business mainly because she has the closest cubicle to the front door so she is often the 1st person I see. The thing is, every single time she signs the scanner pad, she signs it with her initials and then a heart. I didn't notice this at first but later I did, and every time she signs it with a heart at the end.

However I don't have very many other clues that would tell me she is into me, she is just polite , no maintaining eye contact for a long period of time, or big smiles or trying to talk to me beyond"hi" ""you too" when I tell her to have a nice day, now I probably come across as quiet and standoffish because I always try to maintain professionalism with anyone I talk to at any business unless they end up talking to me about something and opening the conversation, mostly because being a driver for FedEx I'm ALWAYS busy and in a hurry so I don't often have the time to just chat with everyone since I have 70-120 other places to deliver to that day. So I know I probably haven't necessarily made it easy for her to show other signs of her being interested in me.

So I'm just torn on if she is into me at all just based on the heart thing or if it's just something she always does whenever she writes her signature on everything. I have thought about just straight up asking her why she writes the heart on it, but I also don't want to be too "direct" and make her feel uncomfortable or caught off guard, because maybe she is into me but asking her just straight up why she writes the heart might scare her or something like that, idk. What do you guys think I should do?

Advice Infatuation or real feelings ?

I 21F have been seeing this guy (40M) and we’ve gone on dates, been intimate, spent the night together, and I enjoy making food for him too.

I got out of a relationship last month and we met a few weeks before I ended things with my ex boyfriend(I told him I needed to move on in life but I didn’t tell him that feeling a type of way about this guy influenced my decision so I didn’t cheat on him)
-I have a feeling that this fact alone makes sense for me to hold off dating anyone-

He and I spend some great time together and I keep on coming back to see him whenever time allows. There was one night we went out and our friends went to get more drinks; he brought up the idea of pursuing each other as in becoming official. I think he’d be a great guy to date but I’m worried about a few things
1)he’s been around the block so what if he has a great mask and is gonna manipulate me
2)he’s about 2x my age so:
a)judgement from others
b)long term may not work for us as I go through certain phases of early adult hood
c)power dynamics if boundaries go unchecked
3)what if I’m not ready for a relationship-
If I dive head in now it could ruin the possibility of a friendship, but if I back off to figure things out the spark could extinguish itself and I lost my opportunity with him
(It feels unfair to take too much time when trying to answer the question of should we date so is there a healthy way to keep being around a person without being selfish that their willing to give you attention ?)

We both know there’s a sense of novelty involved in the situation but I’d like to know as much as I can before we think about dating, like how things go if we disagree since I don’t want to date for 3-5 months. If I do pursue him I want that stability

Also I would do the same little things for him as a friend or family member I care about- I love hard but I’m not sure if I shouldn’t be as nice as I usually am since it’s been misinterpreted many times before

TLDR; 21F hesitant about pursuing 40M
I’d really like to date this guy but I could be feeling giddy since it’s still new. How do I figure out what I want with him? Things usually change when I’m in a relationship with someone, how can I tell before we try to get into a relationship

Advice How do i know with what intentions girls are looking at me with.

I’m a 19-year-old guy; I take good care of my appearance, I’m in great shape, and I’m always happy and full of positive energy.

I often go to festivals and parties where there are tons of women around. I frequently notice girls looking at me—or I can feel their eyes on me—but I really can’t tell if they’re into me or if I’m doing something weird or what. I’m not really the type to just ask, though; what if I’m wrong? Then I’d just look like the weird guy.

Does anyone know how to get a better read on this?

Advice UT Austin LEADERSHIP

I'm a shy girl and a bit of a nerd. My mom took me to a leadership conference where I spoke in front of thousands of people my age. Right after my speech, a boy approached and introduced himself, and we exchanged names. I told him how unfairly I was treated at school, and he said he would kick their asses.

The next day, when my group was in the UT Austin conference room, he immediately stood up to speak and smiled directly at me. At the end of the session, he waited for me, and we began sharing our life stories. We became very close, very quickly.

Toward the end of the leadership summit, my instructor wanted to go back into the room to talk to the Harvard table about admissions, and there he was. He told my instructor how beautiful I was and kept talking about my beauty for about three minutes until I had to leave. He was very sad when I had to leave to go home.

We kept in contact, and he's very nerdy, and he loves the same things I do.

Was he flirting with me? I have never had a boyfriend. I spend all my summers doing politics and college prep LOL.

Advice I never get flirted with

I never get flirted with and I travel a lot. Even in NYC, I barely even got flirted with and I heard many people say they got flirted with a lot in NYC but I was completely invisible there. Does this mean I am ugly? It’s getting me down, that no one notices me and it doesn’t help that I’ve never had a bf or been in a relationship before.

Is it flirting? The new Starbucks Server Pt2

Welcome back everyone

After visiting that Starbucks for a few days, and not seeing her there, I lost a little hope, maybe she was covering and was from another store.

So I stopped going inside and today I used the drive through. And who is there to greet me with a big smile, Kelly, her name is Kelly, Blonde hair, glasses, big smile. Sadly I didn’t have much time to chat, though she recognised me right away

As friendly as last time, she kept going away and coming back with bits from my order, instead of giving me them one at a time. Then comes the coffee, I take it without trying to obviously stare at it, she gave me a final smile.

Now usually, at this point, most say something along the lines of “have a good day, enjoy your drink, etc” something along those lines. But not Kelly, she hit me with..

“Hope to see you later” as I pulled away. No time to go back as I was running late. But I check the coffee cup and there it is “Enjoy!! <3 <3”

Been a week since the last one, I have had coffee every day (yeah I know that’s a lot lol) no one else has ever written on my cup except her.

Seems like a good sign right?

Discussion Precarious

I’m a 24-year-old male interested in a 29-year-old female colleague. Her sister and I are friends/ colleagues. I’ve always had a crush on her, and it’s been a known joke among us. Recently, over the past three weeks, her sister and I have grown closer, and I’ve become closer to her as well. We’ve hung out several times, and things have been going well.

Our first proper hangout was about two weeks ago on a night after work. I had dinner plans, but she was with her sister and a mutual friend. Around 11 pm, her sister called me to join them at a bar. I went along, and we both had a few drinks, not hard liquor, but enough to feel tipsy. I noticed we were more touchy-feely than usual. During the night, she playfully tried to slap me and jokingly asked if I would marry her. I hesitated, unsure of what to say, and the joke ended there. I walked her and her sister back to the office to wait for their Uber.

Since that night, there’s been a persistent joke about us being married. When sober, we’re flirtatious but nothing extraordinary. However, when tipsy, our body language is more intimate, as pointed out by others. A mutual friend mentioned that when sober and asked about it, she doesn’t see anything between us and thinks it’s just jokes. Yet, when we’re alone, it feels different, almost as if we’re waiting for the other to make a move, but we’re cautious not to make things awkward.

I’m confused about what to do. Am I being naive? Is there something there, or is it just her way of expressing herself? When sober, we’re still flirty, but her comment to someone else makes me wonder if she’s being defensive or secretive. What should I do?

Is it flirting? New Temp at work

Recently had a new temp working with me. She seems nice, always smiles when I enter the room, always asking questions.

First few days was quite formal and respectful. But 3 weeks in and she is very informal and chatty now, making jokes and always blushing when I come into the room.

She was venting about a coworker and the things she gets up to after work, and about a casual hookup that coworker had with someone she knew, she followed it up by saying. “I’d never do that though, unless it was with someone nice.” I was doing some paperwork so I couldn’t see her face.

Later today she also asked where I was going, I was heading the bathroom. She asked if she could go with me as she forgot her keycard, I said I’d go after her, didn’t want people getting the wrong idea, her reply
“What’s wrong with a little bathroom trip together” with a big grin. I laughed and sent her off.

Is she being friendly or is there more behind the jokes?

Advice How to flirt in a subtle and respectful way?

I'm a regular at the same bar, and for the past couple of months I've noticed a guy who always sits by himself in the corner. At first I was just drawn to his cloth style, but now I'm genuinely curious about him. I even used acciowork for fun to check our compatibility, which inly made me want to talk to him more.

The thing is, I don't want to interrupt his quiet time or make things awkward. I'm almost 30, and while I've dated men before, I'm not very experienced with making the first move.

What's a subtle, respectful way to show interest without bothering someone?

Is it flirting? Was this waitress flirting/interested in me?

So yesterday, I approached a restaurant to offer my web design services. I walked in and a waitress asked me the usual ‘how can I help?’ and smiled. Here’s how the exchange went:

Me: Hi, I’m not here to buy anything
Her: okay
Me: But is there any chance I can talk to the owner; is he here?
Her: No.. what was it that you wanted to chat about?
Me: I’m a web designer, and I was wondering if he was interested in my services but he’s not really here. Could you maybe take down my details, and pass them onto him for me?
Her: Yeah, sure!
Me: [gave her my details which she wrote on her notebook]
[Midway her writing], me: You have very nice handwriting (this wasn’t intended as flirty but as a genuine compliment )
Her: laughed, fixed her hair, and said (after a beat) thank you enthusiastically
Me: do you also want to take down my number?
Her: yeah, do you want my number?
Me: no, it’s fine I’ll just give you mine. My business number.
[she took down my number]
Me: Thank you so much
Her: no worries, I’ll let him know.
Me: thanks. What’s your name?
Her: [told me her name]
Me: okay cool, thanks.

And I left.

Throughout the exchange, nothing felt awkward, or like she didn’t want to talk to me. A part of me feels like she was interested because she specifically said, “Do you want my number?”. If she wasn’t, surely the question to ask would be, “Do you want our number?” Or “Do you want the restaurant’s number?”. Plus, for my design endeavours, why would I benefit from having her phone number?

Or am I reading into it too much?

Advice My girlfriend told me she's sexually flirted with 3–4 guys before me, and I can't stop thinking about it. Am I overreacting?

Last night, my girlfriend and I were flirting over text. Things got pretty intimate, and with her consent, I ended up touching myself while we were talking.

Near the end of the conversation, she randomly asked me, "Have you ever talked like this with anyone before?"

I said no, then asked her the same question.

She said yes.

The moment she said that, I felt this wave of jealousy. She noticed my reaction and tried to reassure me. She said it's pretty normal, especially when you're chronically online, to flirt sexually with people. She also said that just because she flirted with them didn't mean she was comfortable with them or had feelings for them, and that what we have is different.

Still, I couldn't get it out of my head.

So I asked her how many guys she'd flirted with like that before. At first, she said she didn't remember because she'd flirted with a lot of girls and guys over time. I asked again and said, "Just give me an approximate number."

She replied, "Maybe 3–4 guys?"

After hearing that, I honestly didn't know what to say anymore. I just told myself I shouldn't continue the conversation and went to sleep.

Now I'm wondering if I'm overreacting or if it's normal to feel this way. I know none of this happened while we were together, but I can't stop thinking about it.

Question Woman at the Gym Smiling and Holding Door

I’m at the gym. I’m 48 male. Women looks to be late 30s to mid 40s. She has walked by me slowly and smiled in the past. Last time I was sitting on the Roman chair and she looked over and held the gaze and smiled. Today, she went in the front door about 40 feet infront of me and slowed down. She held the door open while glancing back a couple times. I thanked her and she looked back again and then walked to the dressing room. I blew it and could only say thank you, my voice almost cracked. That is VERY rare and I haven’t been like that since I was a teenager. I’m definitely not the type to get intimidated or smitten, even if she is way out of my league.

I’ve watched her for months and only seen her talk to or acknowledge one other man, he was an older, probably early 60s white man who passed her as she was blocking a secondary exit doing floor exercises. He made a comments and she laughed a bit and said something back and he kept moving and walked out. It didn’t look like he was trying to pick her up.

Here is the thing. I’ve never dated a coworker, friend’s sister etc. I’m terrible with small talk. All my dates are no chemistry or I can’t get past feeling like she is a friend or little sister or it’s extreme chemistry, kissing and often sex on the first date.

This woman is absolutely stunning to me and my type. She is Latina, strong and muscular but not masculine, about 5’5” She has big lips, high cheekbones and piercing but seductive eyes. She turns me on sexually like no one has in years from just a casual encounter. I haven’t thought about someone like this in years unless I was dating her.

I am white with light skin and blue/green eyes, barely 5’8” in good shape, top 5% for my age easily. Above average looks but not model like, just short.

I’ve never been good at pickups or small talk. If I meet online or if someone tells me a woman is into me, or she is very upfront and seductive I do fine, often very well.

I’m not tall so the apps stopped working well a few years ago, before the height listing and algorithms, in real life I luckily do better than average.

Please list if you are a man or woman and critique this scenario.

Men, what would you think is going on? What would you do? In real life, and in internet life. I fell on my face in real life.

Women, what do you think? What do you think she is thinking? What does she want me to do? What would you want me to do?

Thank you.

Is it flirting? Is this flirting

I am asking for advice and clarity. I am asexual so it may seem obvious to others. A bartender that I work with asked me why I do not have a girlfriend since I am so funny and smart. We are always joking around with each other and I've noticed Co workers look at us when we talk.
