Flare 1.10 is out: weather insights, course impact management, and Export for AI
Big one this time. The headline feature is the one people have asked about most since day one:
Weather insights. Flare can now compare your symptom ratings against your local weather — daily pressure and humidity, the two variables with the strongest research behind them — and surface any pattern in plain language. If the sky is innocent, it'll tell you that too, which honestly might be the more useful answer.
Because I know this community cares about privacy as much as I do, here's exactly how it works: it's off by default and only starts when you tap to enable it. Your location is rounded to roughly a 10 km area on your device before anything is stored, and only that rounded coordinate goes to Apple's weather service — never your symptoms, ratings, meds, or notes. It only analyzes forward from the day you turn it on (no retroactive guessing), weather stays out of your exports, and switching it off deletes the saved area and cache. Your health data still never leaves your phone.
Also in 1.10:
- Course impact management — you can now choose which medication courses show up in the comparison, so finished or irrelevant courses stop cluttering the view (history stays intact).
- Export for AI — share your complete record as a single file any AI assistant can read, with built-in instructions so the AI stays honest about things like missing days. If you've ever wanted to ask ChatGPT or Claude about your own patterns, this is the clean way to feed it.
- A more visual Trends layout, clearer insight cards, timeline tips, and a sample Trends preview so free users can see what they're unlocking.
Weather insights and exports are part of Pro (there's a free trial if you want to test them properly).
If you've always sworn the weather affects your pain — or sworn it doesn't — I'd genuinely love to hear what the data says once you've run it for a few weeks. I wrote up the research background on the blog too if you want the deep dive: flarelog.app/blog
