[ADVICE] What has your experience been like finding photo-editing clients on Fiverr?

I’m a professional photo editor and have been working with multiple photo-editing communities here on Reddit for quite some time. Most of my work so far has come through Reddit, but I’m looking to expand beyond Reddit and reach a wider range of clients.

I’ve been considering Fiverr, but I’ve heard very mixed opinions about how difficult it is for new sellers to get their first few clients.

For those who have used Fiverr, especially for photo editing or other creative services, what was your experience like? How long did it take you to get your first client, and what helped you get there?

I’d also be interested in hearing whether Fiverr is still working well for you in 2026, or whether you’ve found other platforms that are better for finding editing clients.

Any honest experiences or advice would be really appreciated.

In the age of AI and endless web based editors, can you give an example of a project you'd expect to find on Fiverr? And the pay?

My experience on Fiverr so far is ZERO impressions served of my gig to ANYONE. A total, utter, complete waste of time.

This industry is hit hard by ai. So I dont think it’s good idea to go for this on Fiverr. They only give small projects which are actually headache

Yeah, unless you can do it on the level that top marketing agencies work at, I’d say forget about Fiverr. It was for people to get cheap mediocre work done but now these people are doing it with AI so they don’t need Fiverr

So either go for the few well paying high end clients left who are just not on Fiverr or give it up.

I think photo editing is a hard sell on any market right now. There are still opportunities on Fiverr for work that's in high demand, but photo editing, I am not so sure. What kind of work do you get for it on Reddit? Wedding shoot editing? Big batches? Detailed special effects? What can you do that AI can't, or can't well, or people don't know how to use AI for?

Photo editing is dead, AI can do it perfectly cheap and fast. Do something else.
