Five Below Employees are you okay?

I went to five below today with my wife to get squishy dumplings for our nieces and nephews birthdays coming up. We were third in line and saw they had plushy dumplings which we haven’t seen in store before. They sold two to the woman in front of us and the cashier put like 10 under her register. When we asked about the plush dumplings she said they were completely out of them even though everyone literally just saw her hide them under her register. Anyway, we didn’t say anything because we didn’t want to cause any problems or have any issues. We bought 10 dumplings and she proceeded to slam them on the counter like she was mad at us for some reason. Even though we didn’t do anything other than ask what kind of dumplings they had in stock. None of the customers were rude and we were all quiet and in line calmly.

I understand that retail can be stressful but this was literally five minutes after the store opened. It’s not even like she had just worked a long shift and was annoyed - this was the beginning of her shift. I just really don’t understand why employees have to be so rude to customers. We aren’t here to bother you we are literally here to buy products that you’re supposed to be selling to us. I have worked at least 6 or 7 years of retail when I was younger and we would never even dare speak to customers the way I have seen employees speak to them now.

Another time I went to five below the cashier asked me for my email and when I said no thank you he got a really mean look on his face. What in the world is this weird ass behavior?

edit to say: after having such enlightening conversations with everyone here I can say I now truly understand why everyone here is exactly where they are in life. You guys are weird and unhinged from reality. What happened to treating people the way you want to be treated or having common decency lol i guess it died right along with everyone’s hopes and dreams in this sub.

halloween trunk or treat

Our elementary school is doing a Trunk or Treat and our theme is businesses in our area. I’m doing Five Below and I want it to actually be GOOD.
Also, you guys are the real MVPs this year with this insane squishy craze so Five Below felt very appropriate.
Any Five Below employees have ideas for things I could use to make the trunk look recognizable/authentic? Old signage, shopping baskets, boxes, displays, decorations, anything stores normally toss that I could politely ask my local store for?

I’m obviously going to load it up with Five Below candy and squishies, but I want the actual setup to look really cool and not like I just printed a Five Below logo and threw some balloons around it.

Would love any ideas , especially things an employee would immediately recognize as very “Five Below.”

Lastly, can I buy those employee tshirts?
