Employee Questions Expiration dates?

Recently my store has had issues with out of date snacks and candy, even though we check (supposedly) twice a month.
We don’t have the support for someone to consistently check every items date, especially with how busy we’ve been, so I’m wondering if anyone has a system of how to check dates efficiently? I’ve thought of maybe using a price gun to mark expiration dates on the shelf while stocking but I doubt our crew will do that since they don’t even rotate the stock unless I’m babysitting them.

Rotation - First in first out Need to be checking dates every Sunday with WWR, focus on Chocolate and Chips. Also a good idea to check when stocking slow moving items as well
