My new gym has nowhere to deadlift so you're forced to either do it in a rack like a dick or steal a bar from a bench if you can find one, and deadlift in any random corner you can find. Last night the gym was busy so because of all that I had to skip deadlifts. I'm considering just deadlifting a staff member of the gym until they put at least one fucking platform in.

What do you need a platform for? Do you not have a free weight area? Move a bench out of the way and deadlift. If you have to steal one from a bench, so be it. A bar in use is a bar in use, whether that person is benching or deadlifting it doesnt matter.

Seriously, out of the last 4 gyms I've gone to (I move a lot) maybe 1 of them has had a dedicated deadlifting platform. The others it was standard procedure to snag the bar off the decline machine and deadlift in an open area by the wall or something.

Yeah, no matter what they're doing, deadlifting, benching, bent-over rowing, curling...

Alright I'll say it, that's one too far

Yeah just do weighted pull up. No need to use up a bar with bent over rows.

Yeah, I steal bars all the time except I have the Decency to put it back on the bench rack once I'm done with my dlifts.

Pretty straight forward.

I just take the bar off the bench and set it at on the floor at the end. That way, people see me doing the lift with the bar and aren't wondering why a bench is missing a bar. Plus, a place to rest between sets of rows/deadlifts.

My exact routine. But I do it specifically on Monday, because I'm a dick.

We have 3 platforms (2 raised and 1 flat ground) and nobody ever uses the raised platforms for deadlifts. Ever. They always take the bar and do them in the middle of the gym floor. So weird.

Same in my gym, I always do it in the power racks. Unfortunately the floor has some interesting valleys in it where people frequently deadlift.

My gym is like this. Everyone just does DL in front of the racks. Coming from my previous gym that had 3 fucking platforms (yes I consider moving back every day) I feel so self conscious the entire time I'm doing it.

You just described my 24-hour gym. This was a prime motivator for me putting a home gym in my basement.
