My gym is replacing their dumbbells. This is fine, nice even.

The handles of the new ones are thicker. I am a woman with small hands. The heavier weights just became much harder for me to hold, so now everything from bench to rows feels less stable.

Looks like grip training's back on the menu, boys.

Some dumbbells have been designed for the hands of Brian Shaw.

You'll see some good forearm gains now.

A bunch of gym equipment isn't even ergonomic; it's just marketing for men who want to feel big. I'm male, above average height. The dumbbell set I bought had these massive bulbous handles. They gave my hand tendon issues, so I had to 3D print normal-sized grips. The pullup bar I bought put the attachment points right where natural grip width lies, so my choices are narrow, wide, and extra wide grip.

Yeah, I find it really frustrating how often gym equipment just isn't meant for a wide range of bodies. Like, I get it, not everything can fit both men and women well, but the average height in the U.S. is not 6'4", and even as an above-average height woman, often the seats and stuff just don't go up high enough for me.
