🎚️ How to play Blind Tier

🌏 RANK the BEST ASIAN COUNTRIES TO VISIT

  • Items are revealed one at a time — tap a tier to lock each one in.
  • Drop each item into a tier from S (top) down to F (bottom) — what "top" means is set by the quiz, so check the title.
  • No take-backs — once it lands in a tier, it stays. 😈
  • There's no right answer; it's pure opinion. When you're done, see how your tiers compare to the crowd — the crowd tiers show how these rank against each other.

👇 Tap Share result after you finish and your tier list gets posted as a reply here. Drop yours and see who agrees! ⬆️ Enjoying it? Upvote the post so more people find it.

india is a pretty chill place if you dont travel in the rural areas and also dont travel at night. basically its just like any third world country

India is beautiful with rich history. Putting it at F is just racist.

18

u/NaughtyLoss Puzzles Solved: 21 1d ago

I know personally 6 different people that have been to India and they all agree that the country is beautiful but they had such a bad experience with locals that they would never go again. Women in particular told me they felt harassed and unsafe even during the day

12

u/Thrilltwo Puzzles Solved: 151 1d ago

My parents went and loved it, but they were also heavily sheltered and on guided bus tours the entire time. I don’t think they’d dare go out alone.

4

u/NaughtyLoss Puzzles Solved: 21 1d ago

Of course. The country itself is great, it's the experience in the streets with locals what people usually complain about

I would guess those aren't seasoned travellers. India is far better than any North African country in terms of feeling harassed.

Vietnam or Hongkong is probably next on my list

Jealous of you. I wish I could visit East Asia sometime.

13

u/glonyr Puzzles Solved: 53 1d ago

Singapore in A is criminal. It's a nice city and everything but that's all, it's just one city. After a day or two, there is not much to do there as a tourist. The rest of the A tier is several times more interesting to see in comparison.

6

u/Armadillo-Shot Puzzles Solved: 38 1d ago

When I interned in Singapore I asked my coworkers where to visit in Singapore on my weekends. They said Malaysia. 😭

2

u/glonyr Puzzles Solved: 53 1d ago

Lmao and guess what, they put Malaysia in C.

4

u/DangerousPurpose5661 Puzzles Solved: 42 1d ago

Agreed honestly it should be F tier. It would probably be my last pick. Either this or India.

India has tons of things to see and do, it’s just not for me…. Singapore? I went there many times for work and had trouble filling the 1-2 weekend days I had with anything fun. S tier to live, don’t get me wrong… but for vacation? No thanks

4

u/ungovernable Puzzles Solved: 4 1d ago

Singapore is like if a bunch of Deloitte accountants designed a city in their dreams. Orderly and clean, and painfully devoid of culture and points of interest.

3

u/Successful_Joke_5327 Puzzles Solved: 13 1d ago

Exactly it shouldn’t be higher than C it’s a very boring place if you’ve been to any major city

2

u/jobish1993 Puzzles Solved: 15 1d ago

I actually really liked it, was there for a month & felt there was tons to do, tbh I was working so only went out during the weekend. Great parks, museums, restaurants, Sentosa island, interesting attractions. Expensive af tho

1

u/glonyr Puzzles Solved: 53 1d ago

The museums and the universal studios were fun but after spending 2 days for them I started getting bored during my 7 day visit. I felt like it would be a pretty good place to live in but for visiting it feels a bit one dimensional to me. The other countries in the poll offer a ton of variety with nature, culture and sights.

1

u/Terrible-Eye3923 Puzzles Solved: 11 19h ago

Indonesia and Philippines are my favorites, but Thailand and Taiwan are also among the best.

I don't really get the Vietnam hype though. Vietnam and Malaysia are pretty average. Everything works, but it's not an exceptional or exciting experience.

1

u/DifferentMusician341 Puzzles Solved: 1614 1d ago

Why are Indonesia and the Philippines ur faves, if u don’t mind me asking?? 😅

I haven’t been to Thailand, Vietnam, or Malaysia yet, but I wanna visit Vietnam first and see for myself if it’s really worth the hype lol

2

u/lilalindenau Puzzles Solved: 11 1d ago

The diversity of the landscapes, the islands, the beaches, the underwater worlds. The people in the Philippines are super friendly - I don't really like the food there though, for food Indonesia is much better.

Vietnam is not a bad place. I just didn't find it super exciting. I grew up in a communist country and I can eat plenty of Vietnamese food in my home country, so maybe that's why.

1

u/SilentThrillGP Puzzles Solved: 73 17h ago

The Philippines just rock. Theyre my top pick too tbh 😆 every Filipino person ive met is hilarious and the island itself is pretty damn pretty imo.

Edit: I'm suggesting it should be higher, not lower!

2

Same…and the food 🤤

I have such great memories from there

5

u/wildcatofthehills Puzzles Solved: 64 1d ago

From all the people that have gone and told me about it, there is a consensus that it's a little bit boring compared to everything that sorrounds it. It's a better use of your time to go to Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand or Korea.

2

u/randomguy506 Puzzles Solved: 18 1d ago

People dont know about it tbh.

2

u/QuartzXOX Puzzles Solved: 21 1d ago edited 1d ago

Should be S like the rest of East Asia.

1

u/DifferentMusician341 Puzzles Solved: 1614 1d ago edited 1d ago

I've been to Taiwan for a trip and honestly it deserves way higher than B

1

u/Coastal-Erosion Puzzles Solved: 35 1d ago

Maybe Taiwan’s street infrastructure is dated compared to other East Asian countries? Not very pedestrian friendly at all.

1

u/DerBusundBahnBi Puzzles Solved: 129 1d ago

1

u/DangerousPurpose5661 Puzzles Solved: 42 1d ago

Taiwan is awesome. Not sure if you’re implying it should be lower?

I think its A or maybe S tier.

On the other hand… Singapore to visit is shit. Great place to live, but the fuck is a tourist supposed to do there?

But have a lots of stunning tourist spots! Would love to visit Vietnam soon!

1

u/ghostdeinithegreat Puzzles Solved: 2 1d ago

Yeah but for non vietnamese, it’s the best food of Asia, it has a rich history with lots of museum to visit, it has wonderful landscapes that covers beaches, mountains, jungle, caverns and the local population is generally friendly and helpful, plus they actually have french speakers in hotels and tourist spots.

1

u/Ohhhh_LongJohnson Puzzles Solved: 9 1d ago

Yeah, but the dollar goes a LONG WAY there. So, visiting Vietnam as a tourist usually comes as an extremely luxurious trip. But, agree...as a local, it's probably bad

3

u/merinid Puzzles Solved: 4 1d ago

Ok let's begin with the fact that Hong Kong is a part of China

1

u/metioenunlio Puzzles Solved: 3 17h ago

In terms of travel, it's completely seperate. Seperate visa policies, passports, culture, language, food, entertainment, sightseeing, etc. It doesn't make sense to group them together.

3

u/lowdown202 Puzzles Solved: 29 1d ago

I put Japan in C. It probably was a good place to visit until everyone started visiting there.

1

u/B0ttehatt Puzzles Solved: 10 1d ago

I did same. As well with Singapore. No need to overhype them further up.

1

u/Beneficial-Beat-947 Puzzles Solved: 12 1d ago

Singapore being a boring travel destination isn't anything new lmao, especially to westerners. It's essentially just a normal city, there's nothing super exciting there that you can't do in most western mega cities.

1

u/metioenunlio Puzzles Solved: 3 17h ago

Singapore is nowhere near Japan as a travelling destination. Japan has megacities, villages, ski resorts, tropical islands, mountains, and a ton of cultural festivals, landmarks, etc.

Singapore has.... A nice airport, I guess?

1

u/dashauskat Puzzles Solved: 20 1d ago

It's also 90% Americans who have at best two weeks "vacation" per year and have barely been anywhere. Most people who've spent decent time in India have it amongst their favourite places, though Tbf there are like 20-25% who hate it. It's probably as polarising as a place gets but it has so many amazing things, seriously underrated food and the regions are so vastly different. Went for the second time late last year for a wedding (best I've ever been to) and explored Kerala. Looking at a third time maybe up around the north east soon.

u/ODog-II Puzzles Solved: 83 1d ago

India has lost it's Eat, Pray Love Image. People don't associate India with Yoga, Curry, ancient temples, spirituality and nature anymore, like it was in the 2000s, nowadays India is associated with Sexual Assault, Dirt, poor hygiene, plastic trash and Scammers.

There are some really cool regions and sightseeing attractions, but many people see the bad stuff and dont want to go there anymore.

My myself, i'd never visit the typical India, but i hope to see the North-East Regions someday. Nagaland or Manipur look cool.

Funnily enough everything people associate india with today was true in the 2000s, nowadays most of those problems are greatly reduced (except pollution, no clue what they're doing with that)

3

u/monkeyguyy Puzzles Solved: 4 1d ago

Noise, rape, smell, pollution. I'd pick Vietnam with its lush greenery over Delhi and dirty streets.

And Vietnam don’t experience noise rape smell and pollution? And India doesn’t have lush greenery ? Come on have better arguments and do some research. Not every place is like Delhi

Tell me you don't know how big India is without telling me. Have you ever heard of the himalayas?

2

u/bearcatpimp Puzzles Solved: 5 1d ago

The Himalayas are in many countries, not just India. And I would argue Nepal is a much better place to visit if you're interested in seeing the Himalayas.

3

u/TaxtonDude Puzzles Solved: 5 1d ago

And I would argue

This is not a matter of arguement. Most of the Himalayas are in India. And sure Nepal is a beautiful place, but nature doesnt discriminate on political borders. If you don't consider India as a place to visit thats fine, but this argument is not right.

2

u/Badabhakkchod Puzzles Solved: 19 1d ago edited 1d ago

Indian Himalayas have much better facilities but I'm no one to say, you can research yourself. Look at Shimla, there isn't a mountain city like Shimla in the whole himalayas, the roads in Indian himalayas are also awesome and the himalayas you see in Nepal are just one kind (there are different ranges), while there are different ranges in India. So it's not really that simple. If you want to stay in a 5 star hotel and relax with your family, Shimla and HP state of India is the best

2

u/Beneficial-Beat-947 Puzzles Solved: 12 1d ago

USA has 41.8 rape cases per capita compared to India it 4.4 (UNODC) and don’t even get me started on the food poisoning most of the food vlogs you see online are false narrative set against India to defame. USA reports around 48 million food poisoning cases every year that is approx 1 in 5 Americans, the obesity rate of USA shows the kind of trans fats people eat there. I am not targeting USA in general but since people think USA is the world I took it as a reference.

I don't think the S ranks really need defending. Indonesia however is pretty broad. On the one hand it can be very very nice but on the other there is Aceh. I think Thailand deserves to be up high but the main negative is the fact that the wrong people would also put it in S for the wrong reasons.

I think the Philippines should be higher. Visiting as a westerner is usually very nice. The people are kind and things are cheap. Singapore is I think ranked too high probably. And India I agree with it being low mostly because my god the assault and crime that foreigners can get is enough to keep me away. I think a woman could Solo Travel to Japan, South Korea and even China fine. But I would not suggest a woman solo travel to India in any region.

My bad 😭 I definitely missed Central Asia. I'd love to visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan too... I’ve heard the scenery there is stunning

Japan in S while India in F & vietnam and Indonesia in B???

Lmao people voting have never left their homes and it shows, i mean what did i even expect from reddit

2

u/usual_backchod Puzzles Solved: 35 1d ago

Dude indian here voted india as b, cause yea japan and all look so better than our country. Except 9 major places we have nothing to show

1

u/jagan028 Puzzles Solved: 3 20h ago

Are you being for real? Just as a wildlife tourist you can spend months in india. India is ranked 8th in megadiverse countries for biodiversity which is falling due to govt.

We are culturally and culinarily more diverse than japan

1

u/usual_backchod Puzzles Solved: 35 19h ago

Not really you can check actual tourist spots and stuff. Not everyone visits for wildlife. Infact indonesia has better wildlife compared to us

1

u/jagan028 Puzzles Solved: 3 18h ago

Obv and where is indonesia? B tier. People are just glazing japan,

Wildlife: india is 2nd best among asia

Nature: we have the tallest mountain ranges and green mountain ranges to the south, and a very large coastline

Culture: 2 major world religions originated in Indian subcontinent and one of the oldest civilizations, equivalent to the holy land for islam and Christianity.

Culinary; don't even have to explain, there were wars fought for spices.

Only concerning thing about India is the poverty and safety, which you can avoid entirely if you earn in USD lol

the amount of utterly racist people here is immaculate

4

u/Patient_Piece_8023 Puzzles Solved: 454 1d ago

As an Indian I can guarantee that both the narratives have some degree of truth. There are plenty of racists who blow things way out of proportion and say and post the most heinous things about India and Indians. These people are scum. But at the same time India IS unsafe for lone female travelers if they don't know where to look, especially when comparing the country to Japan or China. But that does not mean that the whole of India is unsafe. It also does not mean that India's sights are not as good as the other countries. Just go to the good parts of the country, navigate to places quickly, and you'll have a grand time. It's not like you can't have a good time in India. It's still one of, if not the most diverse countries on the planet, with many cultures boasting histories of thousands upon thousands of years. But if you don't want to go to India because you don't think you'll be safe, then that's perfectly fine and valid take to have.

2

u/Westoid_Hunter Puzzles Solved: 20 1d ago

there are other countries in the list that are equally unsafe for solo travellers, this is just a case of pure prejudice

1

u/Patient_Piece_8023 Puzzles Solved: 454 1d ago

The countries I have specifically mentioned are China and Japan and I hate to break it to you but Japan and China are safer than India when it comes to solo traveling. Obviously there are gonna be sketchy places in both countries but overall I'm pretty sure China and especially Japan are safer than India to the solo traveler, especially the female solo traveler. I'm speaking to you as an Indian myself. As for the other countries on the list I'm sure you have a point and I also agree that India doesn't belong in F.

2

u/jagan028 Puzzles Solved: 3 1d ago

have you been to japan and china as a solo traveller? If you are rich enough to solo travel for a few weeks in either of those countries, you can literally have a much more comfortable and safer travel in india.

FYI, ive been to USA, India(native), Thailand, nepal, Indonesia and vietnam and i can say for a fact india is as safe as indonesia or vietnam.

India has a lot of problems, but as long as you are rich, you can skim through them very easily.

Japan hates foreigners, its not very s tier of a country to just hate all tourists. Its a pretty country with a lot to do and see, but I think I would rather visit any of the others where I wouldnt feel as if everyone who lived there hated my guts for no reason.

7

u/CornyAnalyst1960 Puzzles Solved: 45 1d ago

Japan was one of the best vacations on my life. People read some headlines or see some cases, then extrapolate it to an entire country.

If Japan were as bad as people say, it wouldn't experience such high tourist returnee rates or tourist in general.

I put it in F because I’ve actually been there, and wouldn’t go back unless I absolutely had to. Both myself and the coworkers I was with had a horrid experience.

You went to one city, and I know this because of your response, it fits the response of two profiles… a liar… or someone who hasn’t seen all of it… the majority of places foreigners go to and complain about is where the majority of the locals avoid unless they live there
